The posting

It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing!

We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.

The Plant Engineer leads the installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment, while supporting the ongoing maintenance, reliability, and facilities teams across Accredo’s manufacturing plants. This role partners with Operations, Maintenance, Facilities, EH&S, and IT to ensure equipment is installed to specification, meets safety and quality requirements, and integrates effectively into building automation and production systems. This position does not own product specification development, vendor sourcing, or contract negotiation. It does serve as the project manager for equipment installation from planning through handoff.

Location: Sugar Land, TX Travel: Up to 20%

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment, ensuring compliance with OEM specifications, performance guarantees, GMPs, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate and oversee outside contractors and OEM service teams; enforce EH&S and company policies.
  • Partner with Maintenance to develop preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, documentation, and CMMS (SAP) updates.
  • Support troubleshooting of mechanical/electrical issues and recommend improvements for uptime, safety, and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate plant drawings and equipment documentation (AutoCAD, manuals, layouts).
  • Collaborate with IT, MES, and ERP teams to connect equipment for data capture, reporting, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
  • Work with Building Facilities on utility needs and building automation systems integration.
  • Develop or support operator and maintenance training materials associated with new machine installations.
  • Communicate project status, timelines, and risks to internal stakeholders; manage schedules using Gantt charts or project management tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in plant engineering, equipment installation, maintenance, or manufacturing support (10+ preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, CMMS systems (SAP preferred), and project scheduling tools.
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems on industrial machinery.
  • Familiarity with packaging or converting equipment; experience with OEMs such as WINDMOELLER & HOELSCHER is a plus.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, organization, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work with urgency, manage multiple projects, and collaborate across departments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in flexible packaging, paper bag manufacturing, or high-speed converting operations.
  • Knowledge of MES, ERP, HMI/SCADA, or Industry 4.0 data integration.
  • Prior involvement in FAT/SAT, equipment acceptance, and performance verification.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
