Job Title: Purchasing & Contracts Specialist

The Purchasing & Contracts Specialist supports purchasing, vendor management, and contract administration across Accurant International’s portfolio companies. This role sources indirect goods and services, coordinates vendor contract reviews and renewals, maintains accurate records, and helps identify purchasing savings and process improvements.

The position also provides administrative and project support to the General Counsel. As experience develops, this individual will learn to review and redline routine vendor agreements under the guidance of Operations and Legal.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Source and purchase indirect goods and services, negotiate pricing and commercial terms, and coordinate purchase orders and renewals.
  • Work with business owners and senior leaders to clarify purchasing needs, ask questions to assess requests, and communicate purchasing requirements, concerns, and decisions.
  • Analyze portfolio-wide purchasing spend, track savings, and identify opportunities for vendor consolidation and improved purchasing arrangements.
  • Administer the P-card program, including card requests, approval workflow, setup, transaction follow-up, and reporting.
  • Administer the portfolio-wide vendor-management process, including onboarding, qualification, classification, documentation, and periodic reviews.
  • Coordinate the vendor contract review process, including gathering business requirements, tracking reviews and approvals, arranging signatures, and following up on outstanding items.
  • Maintain contract and document repositories, approved templates, and renewal dates, ensuring records are accurate and accessible.
  • Prepare routine agreements from approved templates and progressively assume review and redlining of low-value vendor contracts under Operations and Legal guidance, escalating substantive issues as needed.
  • Provide approximately ten hours per week of support to the General Counsel across contract and document administration, research, document preparation, questionnaires, and special projects.
  • Document procedures and help improve purchasing and contract administration processes across the portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, operations, legal studies, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 -3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, contract administration, legal support, or a related business support role.
  • Interest in developing vendor negotiation and contract review skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and research skills, with the curiosity to ask thoughtful questions, evaluate business needs, and move loosely defined assignments toward practical resolution.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence and tact to respectfully challenge requests, explain decisions, and remain composed in difficult conversations with senior leaders.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through, with the ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Sound judgment when handling confidential information and determining when additional guidance or escalation is needed.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and their responsible use in document preparation, review, and analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel for spend analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with purchasing systems, contract repositories, DocuSign, or Adobe Sign is a plus.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
