Therapist
Position Summary:
The Therapist will offer counseling and mental health services. Services may include evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illness and other psychological issues. As an integrated health organization, Acenda values the use of evidence-based practice or EBP's.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- May provide counseling including relationship, premarital, separation, divorce, and child counseling services
- Gathers and analyzes information through a variety of methods that may include observation, interviews, self-report inventories, group discussions, and/or formal assessments
- Identifies problematic behavioral, communication, and relationship patterns
- Partner with clients to monitor adherence to their treatment plan, evaluate effectiveness, monitor progress in a timely manner, and facilitate changes as required
- Facilitate client linkages, referrals and access to appropriate treatment, community supports and medical or specialty providers according to the treatment plan
- Maintain an active caseload
- Develops and maintains accurate records, reports and chart documentation in a complete and timely manner according to program guidelines and established procedures
- Ensures quality and accuracy of written and verbal communications
- Support the Quality/Compliance/Risk function as required
- Drafts and submits necessary paperwork to insurance companies
- Maintains compliance with ethical codes and standards
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Demonstrates communication and advocacy skills. Understands and complies with Fair Housing rules and regulations.
Education, Work Experience and/or Skills Requirements:
- Bachelors/Master's degree in counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology or similar degree (dependent on program)
- One or more years of experience providing direct care
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Must be able to exercise independent thinking and good judgment under all circumstances.
- Must be able to analyze work, set goals, develop plans, and utilize time effectively and efficiently.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Repeated motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- The employee must occasionally move about to accomplish tasks, adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to communicate with others to exchange information
- Ability to drive a vehicle
