Quality Assurance Tester
Location: Remote, with a preference for candidates in the Washington, DC Metro area who can participate in local collaboration when helpful Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and able to obtain a Government Public Trust clearance Work Arrangement: Remote
Build quality into software that matters. ActioNet is creating a new opportunity for an experienced Quality Assurance Tester to take an influential role in delivering dependable, user-ready solutions. Working alongside clients and development teams, you will shape testing from design through release, combine manual insight with automation, and help teams deliver with confidence.
Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with clients and development teams to understand system features and shape effective test strategies.
- Create comprehensive test plans and robust test cases that promote reliable, user-ready solutions.
- Turn application user stories and use cases into thoughtful manual and automated test coverage.
- Contribute throughout the design and development process by identifying defects, risks, weaknesses, and inconsistencies early.
- Perform regression, post-release, and post-implementation testing to help maintain solution quality.
- Document and communicate bugs clearly, working with development teams to support timely resolution.
- Execute manual and automated test cases, analyze results, and share actionable findings.
- Build baseline and test data that fully support test-case requirements.
- Keep stakeholders informed and deliver accurate, high-quality work on schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Seven or more (7+) years of experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or in a similar role.
- Three or more (3+) years of automated testing experience using tools such as Selenium.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Understanding of the full software development process, including specification, documentation, and quality control.
- Familiarity with SQL.
- Familiarity with source-control tools such as TFS or Git and with Microsoft Visual Studio or similar integrated development environments.
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks and practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and able to obtain a Government Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Azure DevOps.
- Residence within the Washington, DC Metro area to facilitate local collaboration when needed.
