About Acuiti Labs

Acuiti Labs is a specialist IT consulting firm and a recognised expert across the SAP Q2C (Quote-to-Cash) ecosystem, with particular depth in SAP BRIM implementations for enterprise monetisation transformations. We help organisations in telecom, SaaS, media, manufacturing and other subscription- and usage-based industries modernise how they price, bill and monetise their offerings.

As demand for consumption-based and hybrid revenue models grows, we are evolving from a specialist implementation partner into a firm that CXOs turn to for Q2C strategy and consulting. We are strengthening our engineering capability to match, and this role is part of that.

Role Overview

As an Associate Architect, you will play a key role in designing and evolving scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable enterprise applications. You will work across the full technology stack, with strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot and Angular, while contributing to solution architecture, technical decisions, and engineering practices.

You will work closely with engineering teams, product and business stakeholders, architects, and clients to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.

Experience Required

8–12 years of experience in software development, full-stack engineering, technical leadership, and solution/application architecture.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Architecture & Solution Design

  • Design scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable solutions for enterprise applications.
  • Own and drive the architecture of product features and technical capabilities across the frontend, backend, integration, data, and deployment layers.
  • Translate business and non-functional requirements into high-level and low-level designs, architecture diagrams, APIs, data flows, and technical specifications.
  • Design and review microservices, REST APIs, distributed systems, and integration solutions.
  • Evaluate technology options, design alternatives, and technical trade-offs.
  • Identify architectural risks, dependencies, constraints, and technical debt and drive appropriate solutions.
  • Contribute to the product's architecture roadmap and long-term technical strategy.

2. Full-Stack Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership across backend and frontend development.
  • Design and review backend solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, REST APIs and related enterprise design patterns.
  • Design and review frontend solutions using Angular, TypeScript, reactive programming, and component-based architecture.
  • Define reusable technical patterns and guidelines for areas such as API design, error handling, validation, configuration, caching, session management, and frontend architecture.
  • Conduct design/code reviews and ensure adherence to sound software engineering principles and architecture standards.
  • Mentor developers and guide teams in solving complex technical problems.
  • Remain hands-on with PoCs, technical spikes, critical implementations, and troubleshooting when required.

3. Cloud, Scalability & Reliability

  • Design and guide implementation of cloud-native applications using containers, Kubernetes, microservices, and managed cloud services.
  • Design solutions for high availability, horizontal scalability, resilience, fault isolation, graceful degradation, and disaster recovery.
  • Define appropriate patterns for caching, retries, timeouts, circuit breakers, rate limiting, and failure handling.
  • Work with DevOps/platform teams on deployment architecture, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, metrics, monitoring, alerting and operational readiness.
  • Contribute to technology and architecture decisions for cloud platforms and Kubernetes environments.

4. Security, Integration & Data

  • Apply security-by-design principles across authentication, authorization, API security, session management, secure configuration, and data protection.
  • Design and review integrations with enterprise systems, external APIs, identity providers, and third-party services.
  • Define appropriate API, authentication, error-handling, and integration patterns.
  • Design and review data access and persistence solutions using PostgreSQL and related technologies.
  • Identify and address application, API, and database performance concerns.

5. Technical Leadership & Architecture Governance

  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to developers and senior engineers across multiple squads or workstreams.
  • Lead architecture discussions, design reviews, technical workshops, and solution evaluations.
  • Conduct code and design reviews and ensure implementation remains aligned with the agreed architecture.
  • Establish and promote architecture principles, coding standards, design patterns, engineering guidelines, and reusable components.
  • Proactively identify and manage technical debt and drive initiatives to improve platform stability and maintainability.
  • Coach engineers on architectural thinking, system design, secure coding, troubleshooting, and engineering best practices.

6. Stakeholder & Product Collaboration

  • Work closely with product managers, business analysts, project managers, QA, DevOps, security teams, and clients.
  • Participate in requirement workshops, architecture reviews, technical discussions, solution presentations, and PoCs.
  • Explain technical concepts and architectural trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to product roadmap, technology strategy, and architecture evolution.
  • Balance customer-specific requirements with long-term product scalability, maintainability, and reusability.

Education, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8–12 years of professional experience in software engineering and architecture.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Angular/TypeScript.
  • Strong understanding of microservices, REST APIs, distributed systems, and software design patterns.
  • Strong understanding of Spring Security, authentication, authorization, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, and API security.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern deployment practices.
  • Good understanding of PostgreSQL and relational database concepts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and work effectively with cross-functional and global teams.
  • Willingness to work from the office as required.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

The numbers game

More applications. More interviews.

Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting and paid once. Send enough of them and the law of large numbers finds you the job.
