You will also contribute to business development efforts by supporting technical proposals, developing project approaches, participating in client presentations, and helping position AECOM for future transportation opportunities.

This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex design challenges, sharing technical knowledge, and playing an important role in delivering transportation infrastructure that improves mobility and connectivity throughout Arizona.

  • Provide technical expertise in roadway geometrics, horizontal and vertical alignments, typical sections, grading, earthwork, drainage coordination, and intersection and interchange design.
  • Establish design criteria, evaluate alternatives, and develop practical engineering solutions that address project requirements, constructability, safety, and cost considerations.
  • Review and evaluate engineering plans, calculations, specifications, and technical deliverables to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with applicable design standards.
  • Apply ADOT, MAG, Maricopa County and other municipal design policies, standards, and specifications, along with applicable federal requirements.
  • Coordinate roadway design activities with drainage, structures, traffic, utilities, environmental, geotechnical, and other multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers and designers, supporting their technical development and the quality of design deliverables.
  • Identify and resolve complex engineering and design issues, providing recommendations and technical direction to project teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, interdisciplinary coordination meetings, constructability reviews, and value engineering efforts.
  • Support project managers with technical scope development, engineering schedules, resource planning, and design coordination.
  • Assist with the preparation of technical proposals, statements of qualifications, project descriptions, and technical approaches for transportation pursuits.
  • Contribute to pursuit strategy and capture efforts by developing technical solutions, identifying project-specific challenges, and articulating AECOM's technical approach and capabilities.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, providing technical expertise and representing AECOM's engineering capabilities.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving transportation design standards, technologies, digital delivery practices, and industry best practices.
  • Promote a culture of technical excellence, quality, collaboration, and safety across project teams.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
