Your Responsibilities

As a Propulsion Engineer, you focus on servicing, analyzing, supporting, and improving the mechanical parts of propulsion systems, both remotely and on site:

  • Technical Support & Service: Provide high-quality service and technical support on the mechanical parts of propulsion systems, either independently or in collaboration with team members.
  • Problem-Solving & Analysis: Analyze complex technical issues and translate them into practical, reliable solutions.
  • Global Mobilization: Travel to shipyards and vessels worldwide to execute hands-on on-site service.
  • Broad Mechanical Scope: Work with a wide range of propulsion systems, including controllable pitch propellers (CPP), thrusters, seals, and bearings.
  • Technical Reporting: Prepare clear technical reports and advise customers on maintenance, repair, and optimization.

What We Offer

At AEGIR-Marine, we believe that true expertise makes the difference. That’s why we offer more than just a role; we offer a place where your technical knowledge directly contributes to keeping vessels worldwide operational:

  • Technically Driven Environment: A technically focused role within a globally operating and fast-growing organization.
  • Work-Life Balance: We safeguard a healthy work-life balance for our service engineers by aiming for around 180 service days per year.
  • Autonomy & Impact: A high level of ownership and independence, giving you the responsibility to make key decisions on-site and have a visible impact on operations worldwide.
  • Strong Team Spirit: A collaborative environment where experienced engineers support each other, share knowledge, and solve technical challenges together.
  • Craftsmanship & Quality: The chance to work in an organization that values craftsmanship, reliability, and long-term relationships with both colleagues and customers.
  • Comprehensive Perks: Generous leave allowance based on regional standards, company share purchase options upon a permanent contract, and full support for international travel.

About You

  • Core Expertise: Hands-on experience with servicing propulsion systems, specifically thrusters and CPP systems.
  • Location & Employment Setup: Based in Europe. Candidates residing in The Netherlands, Greece, Turkey, or Estonia will join their respective regional hubs. Candidates residing in Belgium are fully welcome to apply and will be employed through our Dutch entity.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to technical problem-solving.
  • Working Style: Comfortable working both independently on-site and collaboratively within a team.
  • Language & Mobility: Good command of English, both spoken and written, a valid car driving license, and full willingness to travel abroad.

Learning & Growth

We value knowledge and craftsmanship. As an experienced engineer, you already bring a solid technical foundation. At the same time, our field is specialized and constantly evolving.

Once you join AEGIR-Marine, we support you in further expanding your knowledge and skills. Through our AEGIR Academy and on-the-job collaboration with colleagues, you will gain deeper knowledge of additional propulsion systems, components, and technologies. This way, you continue to develop yourself as a specialist while building on the experience you already bring.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
