Position Summary

The HR Generalist is responsible for the day-to-day execution and coordination of HR operations, serving as a primary resource for employees and managers while ensuring HR processes, systems, and employee records are accurate, timely, and effectively maintained.

This role requires a proactive, resourceful HR professional who can work independently with general direction and oversight, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of resolving routine HR matters. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and willing to question processes, identify gaps, and recommend practical improvements.

Working closely with the rest of the HR team, the HR Generalist will manage employee lifecycle activities, HRIS administration, benefits support, compliance documentation, and required training coordination. The position is expected to exercise sound judgment, resolve issues within established guidelines, and appropriately escalate complex employee relations, compliance, or organizational matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee and manager HR questions, resolving routine matters and escalating complex issues to the HR Business Partner as appropriate
  • Independently manage day-to-day HR responsibilities, prioritize competing demands, and ensure timely follow-through with general direction and oversight, exercising sound judgement regarding when to escalate matters
  • Own HRIS data integrity within ADP, ensuring employee records, job changes, compensation, reporting relationships, organizational data, and HR reporting are accurate and in accordance with company and compliance requirements
  • Conduct routine HRIS audits, troubleshoot data or system issues, and monitor integrations between ADP and related HR and benefits systems
  • Maintain recurring HR operational activities, deadlines, and compliance tracking, ensuring required actions are completed accurately and timely
  • Support administration of employee benefit programs, including enrollments, qualifying life events, open enrollment, employee questions, and benefit reconciliations
  • Coordinate safety and compliance activities, including tracking required employee training, monitoring completion deadlines, maintaining records, and ensuring workplace incident reports are completed and escalated appropriately
  • Provide support for recruiting activities, including posting approved positions, coordinating pre-employment requirements, and supporting the transition from candidate selection through onboarding in partnership with the HR Business Partner
  • Proactively identify discrepancies, process gaps, and potential issues, taking ownership of researching and resolving or escalating them
  • Partner with the HR team to improve processes, documentation, system effectiveness, and the overall employee experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • A minimum three (3) years of progressive HR experience, ideally in an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, HR Operations, or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with an HRIS required; ADP experience strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting employee benefits administration preferred
  • Working knowledge of employment practices and HR compliance
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with employee data and reports

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
