The role works closely with the Business Unit Head and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights, evaluate business opportunities, optimise financial performance and support strategic initiatives at both business unit and Group levels.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Analysis / Finance Business Partnering (APS)

  • Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes for the APS business unit.
  • Monitor financial performance at both business unit and project levels, analyse budget variances and identify key revenue, cost and profitability drivers.
  • Review project financial performance against approved budgets and commercial assumptions, identifying potential cost overruns and margin erosion.
  • Partner with the Business Unit Head, commercial and operations teams to validate financial assumptions, provide insights and support business decisions.

2. Pre-Contract Review & Commercial Risk Assessment

  • Review Pre-Contract Forms (PCFs) for new contract awards, renewals and extensions as part of the internal approval process.
  • Assess project profitability, pricing assumptions, cost estimates, cash flow requirements and financial viability prior to contract awards.
  • Evaluate key commercial and contractual terms, including payment arrangements, working capital requirements, credit exposure and potential financial liabilities.
  • Identify financial and commercial risks and provide recommendations to support contract award decisions and appropriate risk mitigation measures.

3. Commercial & New Investment Evaluation

  • Develop financial models to evaluate new business opportunities, joint ventures, vessel acquisitions, charter contracts and project investments.
  • Conduct financial feasibility studies, scenario and sensitivity analyses, and investment return assessments.
  • Evaluate commercial and investment proposals, providing recommendations on profitability, financial returns and commercial viability.

4. Corporate Finance & Strategic Initiatives (Ad Hoc)

  • Prepare ad hoc management reports, financial analyses and customised presentations, providing financial insights and recommendations to senior management, including the CFO and CEO.
  • Support Group-level corporate finance and strategic initiatives, including financial projections, investment evaluations and other special projects.
  • Liaise with investment banks, external advisers and internal stakeholders on relevant corporate finance matters.
  • Contribute to improvements in financial processes, reporting efficiency and management information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; ACCA, CPA or CA qualification is advantageous.
  • Relevant experience in FP&A, financial analysis, commercial finance, business partnering or corporate finance.
  • Strong financial modelling, analytical and commercial evaluation skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good commercial acumen, communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and engage with senior management.
  • Experience in offshore marine, shipping, energy or project-based industries is advantageous.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.
