THE DEPARTMENT AND TEAM

The Early-Stage Process Development Department (ESD) plays a crucial role in bringing new drugs from concepts to patients, with projects ranging from early pre-clinical development through clinical studies. The department is responsible for cell line development, early-stage process development, and cell bank manufacturing.

The department is composed by three interdisciplinary teams, where upstream, downstream and analytical experts work together to achieve the project goals. You will be part of a group of highly dedicated laboratory technicians and scientists collaborating on development and optimization of processes. The teams are driving the projects, and you will experience close collaboration within the team between different technical disciplines. We develop processes for products produced in both mammalian and microbial cell lines and collaborate with various stakeholders such as Analytical Method Development and Manufacturing. You will experience a dynamic and flexible working place with many opportunities to both contribute and develop.

THE ROLE

As a Senior Upstream Laboratory Technician you will perform mammalian cell cultivation from shake flask to pilot-scale bioreactor and support GMP cell-bank creation. You will generate high-quality data, keep timelines on track and contribute to continual process improvements in a dynamic, project-driven environment.

You will be working together with a team of 6 laboratory technicians and 7 scientists within the team and across teams in the whole department. We can promise an exciting and diverse job. The work environment in our department is very informal. There is constant collaboration across the organization, and all employees have a professional and flexible attitude towards their work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Seed train and production runs in shake flasks, single-use CultiBags, 5L glass vessels, AMBR-250, and pilot-scale bioreactors
  • Routine sampling to monitor various in-process parameters, including cell density and viability (Cedex and Vi-CELL), pH, metabolites, and gassing (FLEX2)
  • Preparation of media and feeds
  • Assist in GMP cell bank manufacturing and characterization
  • Harvest preparation, and sample logistics to Downstream/Analytics
  • Accurate documentation in ELN and paper-based batch records
  • Preparation and update of SOPs
  • Daily maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of upstream equipment.

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for a senior laboratory technician with a background and an interest in cell culturing. The ideal candidate is an educated lab technician or has an equivalent scientific/technical background.

Furthermore, we expect you to have:

  • Hands-on mammalian cell culture in an industrial, CDMO or academic setting
  • Experience with bioreactor operation and aseptic technique
  • cGMP experience
  • Good English skills (spoken & written) and proficiency with MS Office / data systems.

As a person, you are a team player with a positive attitude and a flexible colleague. You work efficiently in a team and enjoy assuming responsibility as well as performing tasks independently.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
