AGF is seeking an overhead crane operator for the evening shift (14:00 pm to 22:30 pm) at our Kitchener shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the bending machine that bends rebar, ensuring precision and efficiency in the manufacturing process. Join a team of passionate builders! Salary starting at $21.34/hour with salary increases based on months worked ( $23.58/hour after 3-12 months, $25.96/hour after 12-24 months, $26.95/hour after 25-35 months, and $28.27/hour after 36+ months). Evening premium of $1.00/h, if applicable for this position; An additional premium of $1/hr applies to the Overhead Crane Operator position; Weekly pay; Full insurance coverage (health, dental, and vision) after the probationary period; Group RRSP with a $1.25 per hour employer contribution after the probationary period; Annual raises; Paid vacation, including 10 paid holidays; $200 per year for equipment allowance, based on your position; Telemedicine program and employee assistance program; Physical activity reimbursement of $600 per year to promote health and well-being.

About the Role - Your main responsibilities will include:

Operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position, or place rebar within the production plant facility; Calculate crane capacity and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting; Perform routine maintenance work, such as cleaning and lubricating cranes; Demonstrate strong safety awareness by always wearing personal protective equipment, performing duties in a safe manner, and continually maintaining a clean and safe work area; Perform pre-operational inspection and calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting; Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and place plant machinery and materials; Safely load and unload trucks, stack materials safely where they belong, and maintain a clean and organized work area; Assist machine operators, assemblers, and other team members; Act in compliance with AGF’s Health & Safety policies, following the Occupational Health & Safety Act; Perform other duties as assigned.

About You: The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience.

1-2 years of experience in a similar role in manufacturing; Experience in operating an overhead OR tower crane ; Basic math/measurement skills (an asset); Ability to learn various types of manufacturing equipment; Ability to work physically – lift/move up to 50lbs; Willingness and capacity to work outside in varying weather conditions, and perform physical work; Good communication skills, Multi-tasking and a strong capacity for teamwork.  #P1
