A critical element of this position is leading the industrialization of next-generation chromatography particles and stationary phases. Working closely with R&D, Product Management, and Manufacturing, you will guide new particle technologies from laboratory development through scale-up, technology transfer, process validation, and commercial launch, ensuring innovative products can be manufactured reliably, consistently, and economically at scale.

As a senior technical leader within MSAT, you will shape manufacturing strategies, drive process innovation, and solve the organization's most complex scientific and manufacturing challenges while influencing the long-term technology roadmap for Agilent's chromatography consumables portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership & Strategy: Serve as the organization's subject matter expert for chromatography particle technologies, leading technical strategy, manufacturing roadmaps, and investment decisions for future particle and stationary phase platforms.
  • Commercialization & Manufacturing Excellence: Lead scale-up, technology transfer, and New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts, ensuring new chromatography media and particle technologies are successfully commercialized and integrated into global manufacturing.
  • Process Innovation & Problem Solving: Drive process optimization, manufacturing improvements, and resolution of complex technical challenges involving particle synthesis, surface chemistry, quality, yield, and performance using advanced scientific and statistical tools.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Capability Building: Partner across R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product Management to accelerate innovation while mentoring scientists and establishing global technical standards and best practices.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Successfully commercializes new chromatography particle technologies and transitions them into scalable, robust manufacturing platforms.
  • Improves product quality, consistency, yield, capacity, and operational performance through strong scientific process understanding.
  • Establishes differentiated manufacturing capabilities and a pipeline of future technologies that support long-term business growth.
  • Recognized as the company's leading expert in chromatography particle manufacturing and technology.

What Will Help You Succeed:

  • Deep expertise in particle synthesis, porous materials, surface functionalization, and stationary phase chemistry.
  • Proven experience scaling technologies from R&D through commercial manufacturing and leading NPI programs.
  • Strong understanding of the relationship between material properties, manufacturing processes, and chromatographic performance.
  • Demonstrated success bringing innovative materials technologies from concept through commercial launch.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Surface Science, Colloid Science, or a closely related scientific discipline.
  • 8+ years relevant experience for entry to this level.
  • Extensive experience demonstrating technical expertise and leadership in particle manufacturing, materials science, or chromatography technologies.
  • Deep scientific expertise in one or more of the following: Silica particle synthesis Particle modification and surface chemistry Porous material design and characterization Chromatography media development Materials processing and scale-up Chemical manufacturing technology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience scaling particle technologies from laboratory and pilot operations into commercial manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership of New Product Introduction (NPI) programs involving novel chromatography particles, bonded phases, or separation media.
  • Strong understanding of relationships between particle properties, manufacturing processes, and chromatographic performance.
  • Experience developing manufacturing control strategies for complex chemical or materials synthesis processes.
  • Track record of bringing innovative materials technologies from concept through successful commercial launch.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
