ART + AUDIENCE + LEARNING

Based in Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) is among the largest art museums in North America, drawing close to one million visitors annually. With a collection of over 120,000 works—ranging from contemporary art to celebrated Indigenous and Canadian works and European masterpieces—the AGO offers something for every art lover.

Join a leading cultural institution as we continue to evolve and strengthen our digital experiences for audiences, members, and visitors.

At the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), we believe digital experiences are essential to how audiences discover, engage with, and connect to art and culture. We’re looking for a strategic, collaborative, and results-oriented leader to help shape and deliver the AGO’s digital product and web strategy, driving innovation, operational excellence, and audience engagement across our digital ecosystem.

As Manager, Digital Product, you will work in partnership with Brand & Marketing, the Web Team, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop strategies and implement a prioritized roadmap of digital initiatives aligned with organizational priorities. You will provide project and resource management expertise, leadership, and operational discipline to the Web Team, supporting the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, communication, and successful delivery of digital projects.

The successful candidate will also monitor staff performance, support team development through training on digital workflows and tools, and track and report on the success of digital initiatives while making recommendations to optimize strategies and outcomes.

The salary range for this position is $89,180 - $111,456 per annum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Digital Strategy & Roadmap: Lead the development and execution of a clear, outcome-driven digital roadmap aligned to organizational priorities. Establish prioritization frameworks and identify opportunities for innovation and platform optimization.
  • Delivery & Workflow Leadership: Manage the Web Team’s delivery of the roadmap, overseeing intake, workflow, and execution. Ensure clear scope and objectives, resolve blockers, and lead quality assurance and stakeholder approvals.
  • Performance & Optimization: Track key performance indicators, leverage analytics and user insights, and drive continuous improvement through testing and optimization. Communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: Provide coaching and direction to the Web Team, building capability in modern digital practices and fostering a collaborative, accountable, and results-driven culture.
  • Standards & Compliance: Ensure all digital properties meet accessibility (AODA), privacy, and web standards, and support additional projects as required.

What You’ll Bring

  • Post-secondary education in Digital, Business, Project Management, Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8 years of progressively responsible operational experience within a digital product management, Information Technology or project management environment
  • 4-5 years managing, developing, and coaching a team
  • Experience managing in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Demonstrated ownership of digital products or platforms with measurable impact on growth or engagement.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation, or International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA), or similar designation is an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies such as those promoted by Project Management Institute (PMI) and related tools (Asana, Jira, Trello, Omniplan, MS Project)
  • Strong understanding of digital platforms, new technologies, web development, user experience and analytics
  • Knowledge of current and emerging web-based applications; familiarity with web standards, AODA, CASL, usability, CMS hosting solutions and website security
  • Knowledge of Drupal CMS, complex databases solutions and content management systems
  • Ability to work independently, determine priorities while performing a variety of different responsibilities with conflicting deadlines, particularly to determine the importance and urgency of issues and respond effectively to fluctuating workload demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including tact and diplomacy

Why Join the AGO

As part of the Brand & Business division, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how audiences build long-term relationships with art and with the Gallery. You’ll be part of a collaborative, creative, and insights-driven team committed to accessibility, innovation, and visitor experience.

We also offer a range of perks designed to help you enjoy art and life beyond the Gallery, including:

  • Discounts to GoodLife Fitness.
  • Free tickets to every major exhibit at AGO.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
