Job Description

We are hiring a Senior Manager, FP&A to join our Finance team in Chicago, IL or Denver, CO. This role will be responsible for monthly and quarterly financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and special projects. The position requires deep expertise in multifamily operations or asset management, strong executive communication skills, and the ability to effectively partner cross-functionally with internal leaders and Blackstone.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic people leader with a proven ability to design and execute scalable, efficient processes that deliver consistent, decision-ready insights, manage multiple workstreams with urgency, while also developing talent on the team.

What You Will Do:

The Senior Manager will be instrumental in developing and overseeing strategies that support enterprise decision-making by clearly telling the story of financial and operational performance - past, present, and forward-looking and driving actionable recommendations for the business. In close partnership with Operation Teams, Asset Management, and other cross-functional leaders, this role enables strategic decision-making at both the community and portfolio levels.

This leader will bring a strong track record of (a) building cross-functional relationships, (b) analyzing risks and opportunities of a multifamily community and its market, and (c) executing scalable financial processes

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the translation of enterprise and Finance strategy into clear, actionable plans across FP&A, aligned to organizational priorities and long-term objectives.
  • Create and implement new processes and tools to improve efficiency, leveraging creativity, change management, and influence to gain alignment across stakeholders.
  • Oversee enterprise-level reporting and analytics, ensuring monthly and quarterly deliverables are accurate, consistent, and strategically aligned for executive leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations senior leaders, contributing insights that inform enterprise strategy and performance outcomes.
  • Drive large-scale, cross-functional initiatives (e.g., automation, offshoring, operating model redesign) that scale FP&A capabilities and position the company for long-term growth.
  • Develop and manage Managers and Analysts, fostering leadership depth, accountability, and succession planning across the FP&A team.
  • Ensure alignment across reporting workstreams, balancing timely execution with long-term value creation.
  • Contribute to strengthening the firm’s enterprise reporting foundation, including scalable reporting processes and data-driven decision frameworks.

Keys to Success:

  • Energized and Resilient: Optimistic with a positive attitude; resilient under pressure and inclination to drive results with urgency.
  • Detail Oriented: Consistently accurate and vigilant about details, always spotting potential errors.
  • Nimble Problem Solver: Proactive in identifying challenges, always offering recommendations, and solutions. Innate ability to effectively manage competing priorities and multiple workstreams concurrently.
  • Team Focused: Elevates the team, guiding, developing, and mentoring members for success.
  • Champion of Change and Innovation: Adaptable to change, champions innovative ideas, and always seeks to improve.

Qualifications

What You Will Bring:

  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience, with strong preference for multifamily finance, asset management, or operations.
  • Proven track record building, managing, and mentoring high-performing FP&A teams.
  • Deep understanding of real estate fundamentals, portfolio performance, and capital markets.
  • Experience supporting complex finance functions or business segments with the ability to influence decisions at the executive level.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate data-driven multifamily performance to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver concise, decision-ready insights in fast-paced environments.
  • Advanced analytical expertise with mastery of Excel and PowerPoint, supported by strong accounting and finance fundamentals.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and drive results with minimal direction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Statistics, Math, or related field.
  • CFA, CPA, or CMA preferred.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
