As a Software Engineer - Embedded Systems, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering innovative software solutions that drive product performance, connectivity, and customer value. Working across firmware, embedded applications, mobile platforms, and cloud-connected technologies, you will lead projects from concept through launch, architect robust and scalable solutions, and help shape the future technical direction of our products. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced technologies including embedded Linux, RTOS, wireless communications, IoT connectivity, and cloud-based platforms while collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring innovative ideas to life in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Advanced Flow Solutions (AFS) is a leading provider of fluid handling, measurement, transfer, and process equipment solutions. Through its trusted Liquid Controls and Corken brands, AFS helps customers move, measure, and manage critical fluids safely, accurately, and efficiently across the energy, transportation, and industrial markets.

Liquid Controls delivers industry-leading metering, fluid handling, and data ecosystem solutions for the custody transfer of high-value fuels and other liquid products. Corken provides innovative compression and pumping technologies used in a wide range of applications, including Autogas systems, bulk plants, transport vehicles, tank car unloading, and industrial process operations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the long-term technical vision and influence multi-year engineering decisions and culture.
  • Analyze customer needs, market trends, and technical risks to support product strategy.
  • Design innovative systems for strategic projects, including clean-sheet product development.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, promote continuous learning, and serve as a technical resource for engineering teams.
  • Demonstrate deep expertise in application, SDK, and firmware development; SQL experience is a plus.
  • Lead the software development lifecycle from concept through release, including system architecture, requirements definition, algorithm design, firmware and embedded application development using object-oriented principles, and verification and validation methods to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Apply Agile, SDLC, SEBoK, and PLM methodologies to deliver successful projects.
  • Establish and maintain development tools and processes, perform competitive analysis, and remove obstacles to efficient execution.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Develop and present technical proposals, facilitate resolution of complex issues, and drive stakeholder-aligned strategies.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of applicable post-graduate industrial manufacturing experience required.
  • Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Electro-mechanical experience in industrial or automotive products preferred.

Required Skills & Abilities:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in:

  • Object-oriented software development using programming languages such as Rust, Python, Java/JavaScript, C++, and C#.
  • Application development for embedded Linux, Android, and iOS platforms.
  • Linux system administration and support.
  • Using integrated development environments (IDEs), including Microsoft Visual Studio and Eclipse.
  • Implementing Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) for MCU-based control systems.
  • Developing and integrating communication protocols, including RS232/485, CAN, MQTT, Modbus, and Ethernet.
  • Working with MCU peripherals, including UART, USB, GPIO, I2C, SPI, PWM, Timers, eMMC, and System-on-Module (SoM) architectures.
  • Proven ability to architect, implement, and deploy complex technical solutions.
  • Proficiency using Bitbucket/Git, Jenkins, Docker, Jira, and SonarQube static analysis.
  • Familiarity with interpreting hardware schematics for efficient debugging.
  • Experience in developing solutions leveraging emerging technologies like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Cellular, and Micro-services for cloud computing solutions involving Digital Twin, SaaS, PaaS, DaaS, and Data Lakes.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $99,800.00 - $149,600.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
