The posting

Summary: The maintenance position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties such as installing new equipment, performing regular services and maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns, building and facilities maintenance. They are responsible for ensuring smooth operation of the facilities equipment.   Duties and Responsibilities: 

Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Perform diagnostic troubleshooting and repair of CNC machines, including but not limited to vertical machining centers, lathes, and boring mills. Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of shop equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs as required. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of the facility’s equipment. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary. Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices. Perform regular preventive maintenance on the facilities machines and equipment. Perform a variety of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical functions of facilities support equipment and production machinery. Use a variety of hand, power, and other machine tools. Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision. Perform other duties as assigned.

  Education and Work Experience:

High School diploma or GED required. Associates or Technical School in industrial maintenance is preferred. Three to five years related experience and/or training

Minimum of two years experience with hand and welding tools.

Any machine, safety, or other related manufacturing certifications preferred. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements:

Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a 'Secret' security clearance.

  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: List of needed knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully accomplish the duties and responsibilities of the job.

Perform tasks such as soldering, welding, and metal cutting with precision and accuracy. Reads and understands blueprints, schematics, and/or measuring devices. Services, repairs, calibrates, regulates, fine-tunes, or tests machines, devices, and equipment. Uses hand tools and power tools. Hands on, get it done attitude. Performs routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results. Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved. Understands how to use the computers, including such tasks as turning the computer on and off, locating and opening files, navigate to websites, perform searches, and download files. Knowledge of computer applications including email, databases, word-processing program and spreadsheets (such as Microsoft Office). Provides excellent service to internal and external customers. Knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Can handle frequent interruptions and can multi-task. Analyzes and diagnoses problems and works independently to solve them. Can work with minimal supervision and make decisions without repetitively asking others. Works effectively with different levels of management, team members and customers. Works collaboratively and build strategic relations with colleagues, coworkers, and contractors.

  Work Conditions: Environment Type:

Indoors. Production Environment. Temperature Controlled. Unless products and/or equipment is located outdoors.

  Work Hours:

Standard work schedule, overtime may be necessary for meeting deadlines or emergent conditions.

Travel Requirements:

This position may involve travel up to 10% of the time.

  Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds.      Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Operate a motor vehicle, forklift, and/or other heavy equipment. Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.      Visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and operation of machines.
