Overview

Akustus is seeking a talented CAD Designer or a related field to join our on-site team. The ideal candidate has experience in drafting, is proficient in design software, and can create accurate, high-quality visual representations for interior spaces and acoustic products. This role requires the ability to prepare accurate shop drawings using the required design software.

Minimum Requirements:

  • College degree/CEGEP diploma
  • minimum 1 year experience in graphic or architectural design
  • Proficient in English (written and verbal)

Required Skills & Software:

  • Software: SketchUp, Illustrator, Layout, Microsoft Excel, Autodesk 3ds Max, AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Familiarity with design workflows
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to distinguish colors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Creativity, initiative, and client-focused approach
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with efficient interpersonal skills
  • Able to perform simple math calculations confidently

Responsibilities:

  • Adapt existing illustrations and develop accurate and detailed shop drawings using sketchup, adobe illustrator and layout for client approval
  • Develop realistic sketches, final illustrations, and 2D/3D computer-generated designs
  • Coordinate production for print, audio-visual, or electronic materials
  • Create 3D models using CAD software
  • Read blueprints, schemas, and technical drawings
  • Prepare sketches, layouts, and graphic elements
  • Use photo/illustration libraries and typography guides
  • Ensure adherence to deadlines and maintain high attention to detail

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with acoustic product visualization
