We are seeking a DevOps Engineer (3-5 years of experience) to build and maintain the CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud deployment frameworks that support Alarm.com's engineering organization. This role focuses on build and release work including managing pipelines, deployments, and the infrastructure behind them. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality Engineering, Operations, and Release Management to modernize build and release workflows, reduce operational toil, and improve reliability, performance, and developer productivity.

This position is based on-site at our corporate headquarters in Tysons Corner, Virginia.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks
  • Build and manage infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
  • Own provisioning, configuration, and deployment automation for the services you support
  • Manage build and release environments (VMs, containers, and cloud resources)
  • Work with Kubernetes (RKE2 and AKS) and ArgoCD to deploy and maintain services using GitOps practices
  • Monitor system performance, scalability, availability, and security using Grafana dashboards and alerts
  • Troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure issues, and deployment failures, including escalations from the engineering teams we support
  • Document processes and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
  • Participate in the team's on-call rotation after an initial ramp-up period

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience required
  • 3-5 years of experience in DevOps, Build & Release Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Software Engineering
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (C#, Java, Python, PowerShell, or similar)
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or GitHub Actions
  • Solid scripting experience with PowerShell and/or Bash
  • Working experience with Azure and/or AWS
  • Working experience with Kubernetes or another container orchestration platform
  • Comfortable administering Windows Server and/or Linux systems
  • Able to troubleshoot production issues and drive them to resolution with limited direction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including with engineers outside the DevOps organization

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.
