Position Overview

The role supports ongoing modernization initiatives through the adoption of Microsoft’s analytics stack, including Microsoft Fabric and Azure-based services, helping to integrate SAP data into a scalable, governed, and high-performing data platform. While SAP remains the core system of record, this position focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines, models, and reporting solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem, with occasional use of third-party tools as required.

Additionally, the developer applies established standards, architectural patterns, and governance practices to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with Albany’s analytics strategy and evolving business needs, while collaborating closely with team members, architects, and stakeholders to deliver effective data and analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and enhance existing Microsoft BI solutions across SQL Server, SSAS, and SSRS, ensuring performance, reliability, and data accuracy
  • Contribute to the migration of legacy analytics assets to Microsoft Fabric, including data models, data pipelines, and reporting solutions
  • Develop and maintain scalable data models and semantic layers that transform enterprise data (e.g., SAP) into analytics-ready structures
  • Build and support data ingestion and transformation pipelines within the Microsoft ecosystem
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions to enable business insights and self-service analytics
  • Assist in integrating Microsoft AI capabilities (e.g., Microsoft Fabric AI features, Azure AI services, and Foundry) into analytics workflows to enhance insights and automation
  • Apply established standards and best practices for data modeling, performance optimization, and development lifecycle management
  • Collaborate with team members, architects, and stakeholders to deliver analytics solutions aligned with business requirements
  • Support data governance, security, and compliance requirements across analytics platforms

In performing their respective tasks and duties, all employees are expected to adhere to Albany’s current values: Albany Wins Together, Count on Each Other, Own Your Actions, Care About Each Other, and Share Your Enthusiasm. Safety must always come first; we never compromise on safety for the sake of achieving another objective. Employees are also responsible for the health and safety of themselves and each other.

Desired Skills

  • Understanding of business processes and KPIs in a manufacturing or enterprise environment
  • 5+ years of experience developing analytics and reporting solutions in an enterprise Microsoft data environment
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and Microsoft BI technologies (SSAS, SSRS, or similar), supporting enterprise-scale reporting solutions
  • Experience working with ERP solutions, specifically SAP S/4HANA data as a source for analytics and reporting solutions
  • Exposure to modern Microsoft analytics tooling such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or Power BI within implementation or support roles
  • Working knowledge of data modeling concepts including dimensional modeling, basic semantic layer design, and ETL/ELT processes
  • Familiarity with data pipeline development, orchestration concepts, and performance optimization in data workflows
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance practices in enterprise environments
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams and contribute to delivery of larger analytics programs
  • US citizen or permanent resident Preferred:
  • Experience integrating SAP CDS views, ABAP-managed CDS, and OData with modern data lake architectures.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and FinOps for cloud analytics cost
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOX, CMMC) and coordination with GIS Compliance and Cybersecurity.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
