The posting

Your impact

You'll join the Core team to rebuild our Core product with a fresh look and a new design system. You'll also maintain and improve our existing features along the way. This team is responsible for almost the entire user-facing interface, for which you will play an important role in its future development.

The Wrocław team works in a hybrid setup, i.e., we meet in the office twice a week (rented coworking space). On top of that, we try to have a small gathering every month in Wrocław. The schedule is adjusted to our needs.

Your responsibilities

  • Work with product, design, and other engineers to build new product features from start to finish: through ideation, research, implementation, and maintenance. For example, you might build an in-restaurant ordering feature.
  • Leverage your full stack knowledge to help improve performance and reliability and polish existing features.
  • Build and implement a roadmap to migrate the frontend from our old (existing component libraries) to our new stack (in-house design system).
  • Establish best engineering practices for the Core Team.

What You'll bring to the table

  • Great English language skills.
  • Experience with building SaaS applications (ideally in a product-led company).
  • Experience with modern JavaScript (and TypeScript), CSS, and Web APIs.
  • Experience with component-based, declarative UIs (we use React).
  • Experience with building APIs (both internal and external ones, e.g., for 3rd parties).
  • Knowledge of rendering and design systems (as you’ll be building it up with us).
  • Insights into accessibility in web apps.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of DevOps culture and tools like GitHub Actions or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Meteor.js (or similar real-time solution).
  • Experience with GraphQL (we use Apollo Federation heavily).
  • Experience with AWS and its ecosystem (Lambdas, going through CloudWatch logs).

Why You’ll love working at aleno

  • Flexible working hours. Due to the customer support and the daily cycle of our core customer base, 10:00-15:00 CET is required. If you need to finish up earlier, it’s fine — that’s just the default. Other than that, there are no restrictions — just attend the meetings and stay in alignment with the team.
  • Paid time off. All bank holidays are off. On top of that, there are 26 days of paid time off and 5 days of sick leave.
  • Hardware. We can take care of a laptop and a headset for you (if needed).
  • Traveling. Company retreats are expected but not mandatory (once for the whole company and once for the product team). All conferences, local events, and online events (meetups, conferences, etc.) are highly encouraged but not mandatory. Travel expenses can be covered in case of being a speaker and clearly mentioning aleno (for hiring, marketing, etc.)

Our hiring process

We aim to make our hiring process transparent, respectful of your time, and focused on finding the right mutual fit. After reviewing your application, we’ll invite selected candidates to a series of interviews. These typically include a conversation with the team, a technical or role-specific exercise, and time to get to know our culture and ways of working.

We do our best to keep the process efficient and streamlined — usually completing all steps within a couple of weeks.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
