The posting

At Alfa Laval, we always go that extra mile to overcome the toughest challenges. Our driving force is to accelerate success for our customers, people and planet. You can only achieve that by having dedicated people with a curious mind. Curiosity is the spark behind great ideas. And great ideas drive progress.

As a member of our team, you thrive in a truly diverse and inclusive workplace based on care and empowerment. You are here to make a difference. Constantly building bridges to the future with sustainable solutions that have an impact on our planet’s most urgent problems. Making the world a better place. Every day.

The Business Improvement Analyst will analyze, map and improve the business processes for Alfa Laval Canada. The role will support continuous improvement advancements, business process development, and digital transformation. In this role, you will find where work can run better across the organization and build the digital solutions that make it happen, so our processes become more efficient, consistent, and ready to scale. This is a hands-on role supporting discovery through adoption and will include interviewing teams, mapping how their process works, analyzing the data behind their processes, and supporting the design of solutions and tools to make improvements.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning real world process problems into clear, workable digital solutions, using data to extract insights, and helping colleagues adopt change initiatives. It supports Alfa Laval’s commitment to continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation, and connects day-to-day improvements to our larger business goals. The role is primarily office based, liaisoning with the order fulfilment, finance, sales, logistics, and operations teams as required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Interview stakeholders and observe work in practice, using user-research techniques to find pain points and rank what to improve first
  • Gather baseline process data such as errors, rework, and handoffs, so problems are measured before they are fixed
  • Produce current-state and future-state process maps, and support value stream mapping across departments
  • Support root-cause analysis, pilots, and user acceptance testing of new processes
  • Design and build digital workflows, forms, sites, and automations on SharePoint and Microsoft 365, including Power Automate
  • Spot automation opportunities and work with IT on RPA or AI projects where they fit
  • Write and maintain SOPs and process documentation, keeping them current as processes change
  • Build reports and dashboards that track KPIs, adoption, and whether improvements worked
  • Support user training and change management of new processes
  • Keep action and decision logs, track risks and dependencies, and flag capacity or timeline concerns early
  • Use generative AI tools to work faster, while protecting confidential data

Education (degree or years) and/or Certification/Registration:

  • A degree or diploma in business, IT or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with Sharepoint and the Microsoft 365 stack
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills, with some exposure to Power BI or similar tools
  • Experience with process mapping in Visio, Miro, Lucidchart or similar tools
  • Experience gathering information through interviews, workshops and document review

Type and Length of Experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience in an analyst, operations or process improvement role

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attributes Desired in Candidate:

  • Working knowledge of Lean principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including explaining findings to non-technical audiences
  • Comfort working with people across functions without formal authority
  • Attention to detail, reliable follow-through, and the ability to manage several deliverables and deadlines at once
  • Power Automate or Power Apps experience, or a Microsoft certification such as Power Platform Fundamentals
  • Exposure to RPA tools such as UiPath
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification (Yellow Belt and above)
  • Experience with D365 or another CRM
  • Exposure to audit, quality, or compliance requirements such as ISO 9001
  • Experience writing training material or leading training sessions

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
