Head of Sales

Group Head of Sales: run revenue like a founder, across a small group of software companies

Find where revenue is stuck. Fix it with your own hands. Hand it on. Move to the next.

Remote on UK hours, within reach of Jersey · Full time · £100,000 base · about £175,000 on target, uncapped · £100,000 of equity

Who this is for

Somewhere right now there is a sales leader who has done this before. They walked into a sales function that was stuck, found where, fixed it with their own hands, and built the team that kept it working. They would do it again, for a company where they own part of the result. If that is you, read on. If you would rather inherit a team and a playbook, this is a good place to stop.

Where this is going

We are a founder-led group of B2B software companies serving the private wealth and governance world: WealthComply (FATCA and CRS compliance automation), MinuteMaster (board minutes and governance automation) and a third venture that is in stealth. We sell to trust companies, fund administrators and private wealth firms across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Caribbean.

Today the founder carries every deal from demonstration to signature himself, and a small business development team books the first meetings. Within a year we want revenue arriving every month without him. This role builds that, one stage at a time.

The role

You run revenue the way a founder would. You find the one place where it is stuck, do that work yourself until it flows, write down how, hand it to someone you hire or train, and move to the next. Today that place is the stretch between a good demonstration and a signed customer, so you start by selling, often in person in Jersey, Guernsey, London and Switzerland. Expect about seventy per cent of your week on whichever stage is stuck. You lead our business development team from your first day, and build the rest of the team as each stage starts to work. You report to the founder. Nobody has held this job before you.

You will be judged on five things

  1. Revenue collected every month, on both products.
  2. A pipeline that anyone can read and trust.
  3. The founder out of the sale within six months.
  4. Stages that keep working after you move on.
  5. Customers who stay and grow, with nothing sold that the product cannot do.

This role will not suit you if

  • You want a large team to manage from your first day. You start with a small BD team, and the rest is built one working stage at a time.
  • You have stopped selling and do not plan to start again.
  • Your answer to slow sales is more outbound volume. Our market is a few hundred firms that know each other.
  • You sell by promising. Our buyers work in compliance, and they check.
  • You want a guaranteed bonus, or you find it hard to be corrected.

Who you are

  • You have led sales, as head of sales, sales director or similar, and you have hired, coached and grown sellers.
  • You have stepped into a sales function that was not working, or built one from nothing, and fixed it yourself. You can show the numbers before and after.
  • You still sell. You have closed significant new business yourself in the last three years, sold to several people inside regulated firms, and you can name the customers.
  • You know how trust companies, corporate service providers and fund administrators buy, or you have sold to firms like them.
  • AI is already how you work, well past drafting emails. You know where it goes wrong, and you check.
  • Humble, hungry, happy. You would rather be corrected than be right, your forecast is honest, and people are glad when you join the call.

What we offer

  • A £100,000 base, and variable pay on all the revenue your team brings in and grows. At target your total is about £175,000. In a strong year it is £250,000 or more, and there is no cap.
  • £100,000 of equity, so you share in the value you help create. If we hit our plan, it will be worth many times that. If we miss, it could be worth nothing.
  • A team that is yours to build, a founder who will hand over his deals, and a written path to Group Chief Revenue Officer.
  • A CRM and tool stack being rebuilt so that you can question them, and act on them, in plain language.
  • Remote on UK hours, a week in Jersey each month for the first quarter, travel paid, budgets for home office, learning and wellbeing, and a pace we can keep.

How we hire

Four steps, then an offer, over about four weeks. After each step we tell you where you stand within two working days.

  1. Apply: your CV or LinkedIn and three short questions (about 30 minutes).
  2. A call with our recruiter (30 minutes).
  3. A working session with our founder and our head of product (about two hours, by video). In the first hour you walk us through a sales function you fixed, then sell to us. In the second you work through a real pipeline with an AI assistant beside you.
  4. A paid trial: two days of real work with us, arranged around your notice period. You meet the people you would lead and one of our co-founders, and we take your references.

The offer comes with a sixty-day review against outcomes we agree together. We mean that both ways.

How to apply

Apply through the link. Along with your CV or LinkedIn profile, we ask three short questions: a sales function you stepped into or built, what was stuck, what you did with your own hands and the numbers before and after (up to 300 words); three significant new customers you closed yourself in the last three years, with deal size and how each started (up to 200 words); and your location, notice period, pay expectation and weakest "who you are" point. No cover letter. If you are not sure you tick every box, apply anyway.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
