The Sr. Instructional Designer also provides guidance and feedback to other instructional designers and helps improve learning tools, standards, and practices.

Essential Functions

  • Lead complex learning projects and programs from discovery through implementation and evaluation.
  • Consult with business leaders, subject matter experts, and learning partners to identify performance or skill gaps and recommend the right learning or performance-support solution.
  • Translate business needs into clear learning objectives, program plans, and practical learner experiences.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, stakeholder input, reviews, risks, quality, and launch readiness for assigned initiatives.
  • Set the learning approach for assigned programs, including content sequence, delivery method, reinforcement, assessment, and evaluation.
  • Design and develop instructor-led, virtual, e-learning, microlearning, performance-support, credentialing, and blended learning solutions.
  • Create and review e-learning modules, facilitator and participant guides, presentations, job aids, videos, assessments, scripts, storyboards, credentials, and other learning materials.
  • Facilitate or support training sessions, train-the-trainer programs, demonstrations, pilots, and reinforcement activities as needed.
  • Measure learning effectiveness using assessments, learner feedback, platform data, performance indicators, and business outcomes, and recommend improvements based on results.
  • Ensure learning materials meet AGS standards for instructional design, brand, accessibility, quality, and content development.
  • Provide design feedback, technical guidance, and mentoring to instructional designers and learning partners.
  • Explore new learning technologies, including practical uses of artificial intelligence, and recommend improvements that support learning quality or efficiency.
  • Maintain learning content, project documentation, and records within Degreed and other designated systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, elevate quality and enable more innovative ways of working through the evaluation and utilization of AI, emerging technologies and digital tools.
  • Partner across Global Learning and Development and other teams to communicate progress, resolve roadblocks, and support broader learning and capability-building initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, instructional technology, education, adult learning, organizational development, human resources, communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Five or more years of experience designing and developing corporate, operational, technical, or professional learning solutions, including independent ownership of complex projects or programs.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning and instructional design practices, including needs analysis, learning objectives, assessment, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Experience consulting with business leaders and subject matter experts to identify performance needs and recommend practical learning or performance-support solutions.
  • Experience designing and developing learning across instructor-led, virtual, e-learning, performance-support, credentialing, and blended formats using digital authoring tools.
  • Experience measuring learning effectiveness and using feedback, assessment results, platform data, or business outcomes to improve solutions.
  • Experience with Degreed or comparable learning platforms, including content publishing, testing, maintenance, credentialing, or reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Articulate 360, including Storyline and Rise, and Adobe InDesign.
  • Ability to apply visual design, multimedia development, accessibility, and quality assurance.
  • Strong consulting, project management, writing, editing, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
