Allegro MicroSystems median: 29 days open

The posting

The Allegro team is united by a clear purpose—advancing technologies that make the world safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. With over 30 years of experience in semiconductor innovation, we bring that purpose to life across every part of the business—from breakthrough product development and customer success to how we show up for each other and the communities we serve.

The Opportunity

Allegro MicroSystems is seeking an enthusiastic, analytical Systems Engineer to join our global engineering team. In this role, you will help define, model, and evaluate next-generation magnetic sensing integrated circuits (ICs) that bring motion and control to life in everyday technology—powering everything from ultra-precise gaming controllers and joysticks, robotics, and smart cordless tools, to high-efficiency brushless motor commutation and automotive subsystems. Working closely with senior systems engineers, IC designers, applications teams, and product marketing, you will translate system-level customer requirements into detailed hardware specifications, develop behavioral models, and perform hands-on lab validation of new silicon.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer looking to build deep expertise across mixed-signal IC architectures, system-level modeling, sensor lab automation, and high-volume consumer, industrial, and automotive applications.

What You Will Do

  • Assist senior engineers in breaking down customer use cases, application notes, and industry standards into clear IC-level electrical and functional requirements.
  • Build and run behavioral simulations using MATLAB, Simulink, or Python to analyze magnetic behavior, sensor noise performance, and mixed-signal processing paths from sensing element to output.
  • Help maintain system requirements and verification traceability using requirements management tools (such as Jama Connect).
  • Work in the lab alongside Applications, IC Design, and Test Engineering teams to set up testbenches, validate silicon performance against system requirements, and characterize system behavior across operating conditions.
  • Support the creation of technical collateral, including datasheets, application notes, design calculation tools, and validation summary reports.
  • Partner with Analog/Digital IC Design, Test Engineering, and Marketing teams to ensure alignment on product deliverables throughout the product development lifecycle.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • 0 to 3 years of academic or industry experience (relevant engineering internships or co-ops strongly valued).
  • Foundational proficiency with numerical modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB / Simulink or Python.
  • Solid foundational knowledge of analog circuits, digital logic, signal processing, and feedback/control systems.
  • Hands-on experience with standard electrical lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, multimeters) gained through coursework, projects, prior internships, or job experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; eager to learn, take initiative, and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team (One Allegro mindset).

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior internship or project experience in the semiconductor, automotive electronics, or power/motor control industries.
  • Exposure to serial automotive/sensor communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, SENT, CAN, PWM).
  • Exposure to functional safety concepts (ISO 26262) or requirements management systems (e.g., Jama Connect).
  • Basic experience with PCB design or automated test setups (Altium, KiCad, MATLAB, Python).

Applicants for this position must be legally authorized to work in the U.S without employer sponsorship, now or in the future. The company will not sponsor employment visas for this position, including F-1, OPT, CPT or other work authorization requiring future sponsorship.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
