PROJECT MANAGER — M&E (ACMV & ELECTRICAL)

We are looking for a hands-on Project Manager to take ownership of our M&E projects from planning and mobilisation through installation, testing and handover.

You will lead the project team, coordinate all parties and ensure works are delivered safely, correctly, on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

1. Overall project management

  • Review the contract scope, specifications, drawings, programme and site conditions.
  • Establish clear work plans, responsibilities and completion targets.
  • Manage project delivery and resolve issues before they affect progress, quality or cost.

2. Technical and drawing coordination

  • Read and understand ACMV and electrical drawings, including layouts, single-line diagrams, schematics and installation details.
  • Review shop drawings, material submissions and proposed installation methods with the technical team.
  • Identify discrepancies, site constraints and clashes, and obtain clarification before work proceeds.
  • Ensure the team works from the latest approved drawings and instructions.

3. Programme and resource planning

  • Prepare and maintain project programmes and short-term work schedules.
  • Plan manpower, materials, equipment, subcontractors and site access.
  • Track long-lead items, approvals and dependencies.
  • Take corrective action when progress falls behind.

4. Team leadership and site execution

  • Lead engineers, supervisors, workers and subcontractors.
  • Give clear instructions, allocate responsibilities and monitor performance.
  • Attend site regularly, verify progress and guide the team in resolving installation problems.
  • Build teamwork and maintain accountability for agreed actions.

5. Coordination and communication

  • Coordinate with clients, main contractors, consultants, building management, suppliers, LEWs and other trades.
  • Attend meetings and follow up on decisions, comments and outstanding matters.
  • Obtain written confirmation of instructions and changes affecting scope, cost or programme.
  • Escalate unresolved issues promptly with practical recommendations.

6. Submissions and documentation

  • Manage drawing, material and technical submissions through to approval.
  • Ensure required method statements, risk assessments, permits and supporting documents are prepared and accepted before the relevant works.
  • Maintain accurate trackers, progress reports, photographs and project records.

7. Cost and commercial control

  • Monitor project budgets, purchasing, manpower usage and subcontractor costs.
  • Identify additional works and coordinate quotations, variation records and approvals with the QS team.
  • Verify completed quantities and support timely progress claims and payment follow-up.
  • Control wastage, rework and unnecessary expenditure.

8. Quality, safety and completion

  • Monitor installation quality and compliance with approved requirements.
  • Plan shutdowns, tie-ins, inspections and testing with the relevant competent persons and specialists.
  • Manage defects and close outstanding comments.
  • Complete testing records, as-built drawings, O&M manuals and handover requirements.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience managing M&E projects, particularly ACMV and electrical installations.
  • Experience in A&A works and occupied commercial buildings is an advantage.
  • Strong technical understanding and ability to interpret drawings, specifications and contract requirements.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Organised, detail-oriented and consistent in following matters through to completion.
  • Able to manage project, deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Willing to perform night works and take an active role on site and accept responsibility for project outcomes.

Working Arrangements

Work at the company office and project sites across Singapore. Attendance for scheduled night works, shutdowns, weekend or public-holiday works may be required.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
