Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide daily care for hospitalized and boarding animals, including feeding, watering, walking, bathing, and monitoring patients.
  • Administer medications as trained and directed by the veterinary medical team.
  • Clean and disinfect kennels, exam rooms, treatment areas, and other hospital spaces to maintain a sanitary veterinary environment.
  • Complete laundry, maintain clean bedding, and ensure animals have comfortable living spaces.
  • Monitor patients for changes in appetite, behavior, activity, and overall condition, reporting concerns to the veterinary team.
  • Maintain accurate records of medications, special diets, appetite, behavior, and any health or care-related concerns.
  • Assist with post-operative patient care and monitor animals recovering from veterinary procedures.
  • Help veterinarians and veterinary technicians with animal restraint, examinations, and other patient care needs.
  • Restock veterinary hospital supplies and help keep treatment areas organized.
  • Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment as trained.
  • Provide compassionate, patient care to animals who may be sick, injured, anxious, or frightened.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a dependable, compassionate individual who enjoys working with animals and takes pride in providing excellent veterinary and kennel care. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and understands the importance of cleanliness, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of basic animal care, cleaning, and disinfecting methods, or the willingness to learn.
  • Ability to safely and properly handle and restrain animals of different sizes and temperaments.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products safely and efficiently.
  • Physical ability to perform moderately heavy work, including lifting and moving large dogs, bags of pet food, litter, and other supplies.
  • Patience and compassion when caring for sick, scared, injured, or recovering animals.
  • Ability and willingness to learn medication administration, recognize abnormal conditions, and report changes in patient behavior or health.
  • Strong attention to detail when following veterinary care instructions and maintaining patient records.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • A positive, cooperative attitude and the ability to work well with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, and other team members.
  • Dependability, flexibility, and a willingness to help wherever needed to support the veterinary team.

Previous experience in a veterinary hospital, kennel, animal boarding facility, or other animal care setting is a plus, but a compassionate attitude and willingness to learn are just as important!

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
