The posting

Who You’ll Work With: The Legal and Compliance Department is responsible for ensuring compliance with all of the legal and regulatory requirements to which AB is subject, protecting the firm from regulatory and reputational risk across the globe, and strengthening the firm’s culture of compliance. We do this through collaborative partnership with the business units we support by providing thoughtful and timely advice. In addition, the department conducts global monitoring and training activities that prevent, detect and mitigate regulatory and reputational risk. The advice coupled with the monitoring and training activities provide the framework to support the firm’s business strategy and objectives while maintaining a high standard for integrity. What You’ll Do: AllianceBernstein is seeking a detail-oriented Compliance Associate to support the firm’s Private Alternatives business. The Associate will help support and may oversee key elements of the Private Alternatives Compliance program, including compliance surveillance and testing, regulatory obligations, and ongoing monitoring activities across private alternative businesses. The individual will partner closely with investment teams, Legal & Compliance colleagues, and other business stakeholders to develop a strong understanding of the businesses, identify and assess compliance risks, and escalate significant issues as appropriate. This position requires strong judgment, the ability to independently manage recurring compliance processes, and experience identifying and addressing gaps within a compliance program. Execute and support the Private Alternatives Compliance surveillance and testing program, including identifying, assessing, and documenting compliance risks and potential control gaps, escalating findings as appropriate, and tracking remediation to completion. Support the Director of Private Alternatives Compliance and the Chief Compliance Officer in the execution and strategic development of the Private Alts Compliance program. Collaborate with others in Compliance, Legal, and business stakeholders to enhance processes, strengthen controls, and support the continued growth and maturation of the Private Alts Compliance program. Build strong relationships with investment teams, Investor Relations, the global Sales force, Operations, Legal, and other stakeholders, in order to develop a strong understanding of the business. Coordinate applicable governance processes, including preparation of compliance materials, approvals, meeting documentation, and maintenance of related records, as well as support the annual Rule 206(4)-7 compliance review. Review and enhance policies, procedures, controls and monitoring processes designed to address risks associated with Private Alternatives products and operations. Stay current on regulatory expectations, industry developments, and emerging risks relating to private funds, alternative investments, conflicts of interest, allocation practices, fund governance, and other Private Alternatives compliance and control functions. What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree required; degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, legal studies, information systems, or a related field. Four or more years of relevant compliance, legal, risk, or audit experience; experience supporting private alternative investment products, private funds, or alternative asset classes preferred. Experience in developing, implementing, or enhancing a compliance program is a plus. Familiarity with regulatory and fiduciary obligations relevant to private fund vehicles, including, governance, conflicts of interest, and investment and expense allocation. Excellent attention to detail, organization, documentation discipline, and ability to manage time-sensitive requests in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to evaluate complex facts, identify potential issues, and recommend practical next steps. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain compliance requirements clearly and professionally to investment professionals, employees, and business stakeholders. Demonstrated discretion and ability to handle confidential client, investment, business, and firm information appropriately. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Copilot or similar AI-enabled productivity tools is a plus. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
