Job Description

Are you ready to accelerate your career with a dynamic and innovative F1 team?

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Alpine Formula One Team at Enstone as our Head of Structural Analysis & Materials.

This is a key technical leadership role within the Engineering Office, responsible for defining and delivering the team's structural analysis and materials strategy. Leading a highly skilled group of engineers, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the performance, reliability and regulatory compliance of all car structures while driving innovation in analysis methodologies, material technologies and engineering capability.

Our team is dedicated to engineering excellence, pushing the boundaries of technology and performance in pursuit of competitive advantage. We are built on collaboration, innovation and mutual support, fostering an inclusive environment where every contribution matters.

Your Challenge

As Head of Structural Analysis & Materials, you will provide strategic, technical and people leadership for the Structural Analysis and Materials functions, ensuring the team delivers accurate, timely and high-quality engineering support across all areas of the race car.

You will be responsible for setting the direction of the department, developing technical capability and ensuring resources are aligned to business priorities. The role will oversee all structural analysis activities, including load definition, finite element analysis, correlation and validation methodologies, while also driving the development and application of advanced materials technologies.

Working closely with Design, Aerodynamics, Vehicle Performance, Manufacturing and Trackside Engineering teams, you will ensure that analysis methodologies and material solutions support vehicle performance, reliability, weight optimisation and regulatory compliance. You will also be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve engineering workflows, simulation techniques, automation and data-driven engineering approaches, ensuring the department continues to evolve and deliver competitive advantage.

As a departmental leader, you will play a key role in developing technical capability, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and supporting succession planning to ensure long-term organisational success.

Who We Want

We are looking to strengthen our leadership team with an individual who possesses significant experience in structural analysis, materials engineering or a related high-performance engineering environment. You will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership capability and a passion for developing people and engineering excellence.

You should be educated to degree level in Engineering, Materials Science or a related discipline and have a strong understanding of finite element analysis, structural mechanics, composite and metallic structures, and material behaviour. Experience leading technical teams within motorsport, automotive, aerospace or similarly demanding engineering sectors would be highly advantageous.

The ideal candidate will also have experience developing engineering methodologies, tools and processes, together with knowledge of Abaqus, Python programming, engineering automation, Unix/Linux environments and high-performance computing systems. Strong communication, stakeholder management and decision-making skills are essential, as is the ability to influence across multiple functions and drive collaborative working.

What We Offer You in Return

Working for Alpine Formula One Team, you will collaborate with world-class engineers and technical specialists, directly influencing the performance of a Formula One car competing on the global stage.

We offer competitive remuneration packages, private medical healthcare, access to a free on-site gym, a subsidised restaurant and a range of additional benefits. Alongside this, you will have the opportunity to work at the forefront of engineering innovation in one of the world's most technologically advanced sports.

At Alpine Formula One Team, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an environment where everyone can be their authentic selves. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, recognising that diverse thinking is fundamental to achieving exceptional results.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
