The posting

Candidates must be comfortable working in a high-volume environment and understand the importance of punctuality, teamwork, sanitation, and excellent service during major sporting and entertainment events.

******Please make candidates aware that they need to arrive at NRG at least 45 minutes prior to report tie, they have to find parking, and go through security, and then go to the concession cook line to sign in for work, all games will be on a first come first serve basis. ******

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook concession food items according to established recipes and procedures.
  • Operate grills, fryers, ovens, warmers, and other commercial kitchen equipment as assigned.
  • Prepare items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, fries, nachos, and other concession foods.
  • Maintain proper food temperatures and follow food-safety guidelines.
  • Assist with food preparation before and during events.
  • Keep cooking stations clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Follow proper sanitation and food-handling procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen and concession work area.
  • Restock food, supplies, and cooking materials as needed.
  • Work quickly and efficiently during high-volume periods.
  • Communicate and work effectively with concession team members, supervisors, and management.
  • Follow all NRG Stadium and client policies, procedures, safety requirements, and uniform standards.
  • Assist with breakdown and cleanup of the work area at the end of the event.
  • Perform additional kitchen or concession duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a cook, concession cook, grill cook, line cook, prep cook, or similar food-service position is preferred.
  • Experience working in high-volume food service, stadiums, arenas, restaurants, catering, or large events is a plus.
  • Must be dependable and able to report to work on time and ready to work.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
  • Must understand basic food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Must be comfortable working around hot cooking equipment.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, lift, push, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
