WHY JOIN ALO?

Mindful movement. It’s at the core of why we do what we do at ALO—it’s our calling. Because mindful movement in the studio leads to better living. It changes who yogis are off the mat, making their lives and their communities better. That’s the real meaning of studio-to-street: taking the consciousness from practice on the mat and putting it into practice in life.

OVERVIEW

ALO is seeking a strategic, hands-on finance leader to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team. As the Manager of FP&A, Retail, you will own financial planning and performance management for our fast-growing physical store footprint. This role will serve as the primary finance partner to Store Operations, Real Estate, and Planning leadership, driving store profitability, guiding capital investment decisions for new and existing stores, and leading a team of analysts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the annual budget, quarterly forecast, and long-range planning processes for the Retail channel, including sales, payroll, occupancy, and opex
  • Own the store P&L portfolio and deliver monthly performance reviews to senior leadership, translating results into clear insights and recommended actions
  • Oversee the monthly close review in partnership with Accounting, ensuring accurate variance explanations and accruals
  • Own the new store investment model and approval process, presenting proformas (IRR, NPV, payback period, and sensitivity analysis) to executive leadership
  • Partner with Real Estate on lease evaluations and remodel, relocation, and closure decisions
  • Partner with Store Operations on labor planning and productivity, identifying opportunities to improve store-level profitability
  • Lead post-opening reviews and ongoing portfolio health assessments, flagging underperforming stores and recommending corrective actions
  • Develop and define key store performance metrics and build scalable reporting that improves visibility across the organization
  • Drive process improvements and automation across planning and reporting tools
  • Manage, coach, and develop FP&A Analyst(s), setting priorities and ensuring the quality of deliverables
  • Lead ad-hoc strategic projects across the business, as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-7 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or operations finance
  • Experience in retail, apparel, or consumer businesses with a physical store footprint strongly preferred
  • Experience managing or mentoring analysts
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA is a plus
  • Deep expertise in store-level P&Ls, four-wall economics, and capital investment analysis
  • Proven ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to senior leadership and influence decisions across functions
  • Strong business partnering skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with non-finance teams
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with shifting priorities
  • Advanced competency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with planning systems and BI tools
  • Experience with ERP implementations, including representing FP&A requirements and supporting system design, testing, and adoption

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
