About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Accounting Senior Manager to lead our cryptocurrency accounting operations and support complex accounting matters across the organization.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role that combines ownership of the crypto accounting function with broader technical accounting responsibilities, audit leadership, and internal controls development.

The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment, navigating complex accounting and regulatory requirements, and partnering cross-functionally with business leaders, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and external auditors.

This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of our accounting processes as the business grows and evolves.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Assets Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Own the end-to-end accounting function for the company's crypto and tokenization-related activities, including month-end and quarter-end close processes, reconciliation review, journal entry reviews, and financial reporting.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and controls related to cryptocurrency transactions, digital assets, and associated business activities.
  • Partner closely with crypto business leadership to understand new products, transaction flows, and business developments, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment and financial reporting.
  • Oversee accounting for crypto-related transactions, including digital asset holdings, transfers, fees, settlements, and other relevant activities.
  • Coordinate with Finance, Legal, Compliance, and other stakeholders to support regulatory reporting requirements applicable to the crypto business.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and scalable accounting solutions to support growth in crypto transaction volumes and business complexity.
  • Serve as the primary accounting point of contact for crypto-related initiatives, providing proactive guidance on accounting implications and operational considerations.

Audit Ownership & Regulatory Support

  • Lead and manage the external financial statement audit process for the crypto business, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors.
  • Coordinate audit planning, prepare supporting schedules and documentation, resolve accounting questions, and ensure timely completion of audit deliverables.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to address audit findings, strengthen accounting processes, and implement appropriate remediation measures.
  • Support regulatory examinations, inquiries, and reporting requirements related to the crypto business, in coordination with Legal and Compliance.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure accounting processes are supported by effective internal controls.

Technical Accounting & Complex Transactions

  • Serve as a key technical accounting resource across the broader organization, researching and evaluating complex or nonroutine transactions under US GAAP.
  • Prepare technical accounting memoranda documenting accounting conclusions, relevant guidance, and financial statement implications.
  • Partner with Finance and business leaders to evaluate the accounting impact of new products, strategic initiatives, contracts, and unique business arrangements.
  • Support accounting assessments for complex topics, which may include revenue recognition, equity transactions, investments, business combinations, digital assets, and other emerging accounting matters.
  • Monitor evolving accounting standards and regulatory developments, assess their impact on the company, and support implementation of new requirements.
  • Collaborate with external advisors and auditors to resolve technical accounting matters and ensure consistent application of accounting policies.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in public accounting and/or a complex corporate accounting environment.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, technical accounting research, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience managing month-end close processes, preparing financial statements, and coordinating external audits.
  • Experience with cryptocurrency, digital assets, financial services, fintech, or similarly complex transaction environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently research, analyze, and document complex accounting matters.
  • Experience designing, implementing, or improving accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work across multiple teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex accounting topics into clear, actionable guidance for non-accounting stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

Preferred

  • CPA with a combination of Big Four or national public accounting firm experience and industry experience.
  • Direct experience with cryptocurrency accounting, including digital asset transactions, reconciliations, custody arrangements, and related reporting requirements.
  • Experience supporting regulated financial services or crypto-related entities.
  • Experience leading financial statement audits and working directly with external auditors on complex accounting matters.
  • Familiarity with SOC 1 and/or SOC 2 readiness, internal control frameworks, and audit evidence requirements.
  • Experience implementing accounting automation, improving financial systems, or scaling accounting operations.
  • Experience partnering with senior leadership on new products, business initiatives, or complex commercial arrangements.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
