About the Role:

We are seeking a versatile Senior Editor to shape the content behind AlphaSense's marketing, thought leadership, and research goals.

Reporting to the Editorial Director, you will be the primary editor for our Research and Thought Leadership content, handling line editing, substantive revisions, copy editing, and occasionally writing across formats: research reports, product and research articles, technical content, executive thought leadership pieces, SEO articles, case studies, emails, newsletters and more. You will work directly with writers, giving clear feedback and adapting to a range of working styles to keep projects moving. Strong knowledge of financial markets and how to position content for an institutional audience is essential.

You will also contribute to editorial project management, from the editorial calendar to alignment between content and campaigns, working across events, brand, and revenue marketing. This side of the role suits someone organized, sharp, self-directed, and comfortable taking ownership of process.

This role is ideal for someone with strong editorial judgement and editing experience in financial services who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Who You Are:

  • Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience editing content for an institutional finance audience.
  • Editorial Excellence:
  • Exceptional editing and writing skills, with an eye for detail and a strong command of grammar, syntax, and style.
  • Ability to distill complex, technical topics into digestible, engaging content for professional audiences.
  • Experience editing across formats and channels, including web, email, and social media.
  • Knowledge of Finance and Markets:
  • Solid understanding of financial markets, industries, companies, and investing concepts is essential.
  • Ability to research and interpret financial data, reports, and market trends to create accurate and compelling content.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork:
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative environment with writers, editors, marketers, designers, engineers, and subject matter experts.
  • Ability to take feedback constructively and make improvements to content based on editorial direction.
  • Technological Proficiency:
  • Proficiency with content management systems (CMS), Google Suite, Tableau, and project management tools (e.g., Asana).
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and content marketing best practices.
  • Experience with data visualization and how to incorporate charts, graphs, and infographics into written content.

What You’ll Do:

  • Editing and Proofreading:
  • Edit content for clarity, tone, voice, grammar, and style, ensuring all materials are polished and professional
  • Refine and rework existing content to improve readability, flow, and engagement.
  • Proofread for errors in grammar, punctuation, and formatting, maintaining a high level of quality and consistency
  • Write copy, briefs, abstracts, headlines, summaries and other short form material for content promotion internally and externally
  • Partner with writers to develop thought leadership content, occasionally contributing as a ghostwriter
  • Work closely with and coach writers to improve written pieces and provide feedback they can apply in the future
  • Uphold Content Quality and Standards
  • Apply sound editorial judgment on what meets our standards and what needs another pass
  • Ensure all content aligns with AlphaSense’s brand voice, tone, and messaging guidelines
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with marketing teams, product, and sales teams to understand AlphaSense’s products and services and convey their value through effective content
  • Liaise with cross-functional stakeholders across marketing and the broader company to gather inputs, align on priorities, and ensure research content supports our business goals
  • Work with the design team to ensure content is visually appealing and engaging, and integrate insights and data visualizations into content, enhancing its value and credibility
  • Content Ideation, Optimization, and Performance:
  • Stay current on market and industry trends and competitor content to continually improve the quality and relevance of AlphaSense’s materials
  • Ensure all content is optimized for SEO, and apply SEO considerations to ideation
  • Monitor the performance of published content and make recommendations for improvement based on data-driven insights

Editorial Project Management

  • Assist with managing the Research & Thought Leadership editorial calendar, ensuring visibility across planned reports, articles, webinars, events, newsletters, and campaign assets.
  • Maintain team process documentation, including style guides, intake processes and workflow guides.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
