Put Your Caregiving Experience to Work in a New Way!
Are you an experienced caregiver looking to transition into an office-based position while still making a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors? Do you enjoy problem-solving, staying organized, and helping others succeed?
Always Best Care Senior Services is hiring a Weekend Caregiver Scheduling Specialist to help coordinate our home care services and support our caregivers and clients throughout the weekend.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on caregiving experience who wants to develop administrative and scheduling skills in the home care industry.
No previous scheduling experience? No problem! While scheduling experience is preferred, we are willing to consider candidates with strong caregiving backgrounds who demonstrate excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Weekend Caregiver Scheduling Specialist, you'll help ensure our clients receive dependable care, even when unexpected staffing challenges arise.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate Caregiver Coverage: Monitor scheduled visits and help ensure caregivers arrive for their assigned shifts.
- Handle Last-Minute Changes: Respond promptly to call-offs, emergencies, and unexpected staffing shortages.
- Find Staffing Solutions: Contact available caregivers, coordinate replacement assignments, and work to prevent interruptions in client care.
- Provide Emergency Coverage: When necessary, step into a direct caregiving role to ensure clients continue receiving essential services.
- Support Clients & Families: Answer incoming calls, address scheduling questions, and provide professional, compassionate customer service.
- Communicate with Caregivers: Assist team members with schedule questions, availability updates, and shift-related concerns.
- Maintain Scheduling Records: Keep caregiver assignments, availability, and schedule changes accurately documented.
- Monitor Staffing Hours: Track caregiver hours and identify potential overtime concerns when coordinating coverage.
- Collaborate with Office Leadership: Communicate important updates, unresolved concerns, and staffing needs to the appropriate team members.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who understands the responsibilities of caregiving and is ready to use that experience to support a larger team.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous professional caregiving experience is REQUIRED.
- Willingness and ability to personally provide caregiver coverage when emergency staffing needs arise
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stay organized and prioritize tasks in a busy environment
- Confidence handling unexpected situations and making timely decisions
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort using multiple software platforms
- Reliable attendance and availability to work the required weekend rotation
- Ability to communicate professionally with clients, families, and caregivers
- Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred, But Not Required:
- Previous scheduling, dispatching, or staffing coordination experience
- Experience working in a home care agency or healthcare office
- Familiarity with WellSky, ClearCare, or similar scheduling software
- Experience managing multiple assignments, coordinating staff, or handling high-volume phone calls
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role?
Weekend scheduling can be unpredictable, and we're looking for someone who enjoys finding solutions rather than waiting for problems to resolve themselves.
Our ideal candidate is:
- Resourceful: You know how to explore different options when staffing challenges arise.
- Dependable: Clients and caregivers can count on you to follow through.
- Adaptable: You can adjust quickly when plans change.
- Proactive: You take initiative and recognize when something needs attention.
