About The Role

If you love meeting new people and want to support people affected by dementia in your area, then we may have just the volunteer role for you!

As a Group Support Volunteer, you’ll support and encourage people affected by dementia to engage in activities and socialise with others in a group setting. A friendly face at the group, you’ll welcome and talk to people affected by dementia to help them feel comfortable and make sure they’re offered refreshments. You’ll also help set up and tidy away at the end of the group.

Your involvement in this role will ensure people affected by dementia are able to meet others in a similar situation, access the support and information they need and enjoy meaningful activities.

We are looking for volunteers to support with any of the following groups:

Monday Groups:

Croxley Green Together Group, 2-4pm at Croxley Baptist Church, 225 Baldwins Lane, Croxley Green, WD3 3LH.

St Albans Together Group, 2-4pm at Marshalwick Community Centre, The Ridgeway, Marshalwick, St Albans, AL4 9TU.

Letchworth Together Group, 1.30-3.30pm at Jackmans Community Centre, Ivel Court, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 2NL.

Young Onset Dementia (YOD) Hemel Together Group, 1.30-3.30pm on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at South Hill Centre, Cemetery Hill, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1JF.

Tuesday Groups:

Hertford Together Group, 11.15am-1pm at St Johns Hall, All Saints Church, Churchfields, Hertford, SG13 8AE.

Watford/Stanborough Together Group, 1-3pm at Stanborough Seventh-day Church, Watford, WD25 9JL.

Stevenage Together Group 1.30-3.30pm at Hampson Park, Webb Rise, Stevenage, SG1 5QU.

Wednesday Groups:

Cheshunt Together Group, 10am-12pm at Tesco community room, Brookfield Centre, Waltham Cross, EN8 0TA.
