About The Role

What makes a great leader? And how can we help people feel confident, supported and ready to take their next step?

As our Talent & Leadership Specialist, you’ll help us explore those questions. You’ll turn the answers into development opportunities that make a real difference.

You’ll be part of our Talent & Development team. You’ll work with leaders and colleagues across Alzheimer’s Society to help people build their skills, confidence and careers.

From aspiring leaders through to senior leaders, you’ll help make sure our people have the support they need to grow and feel ready for what’s next.

You’ll bring your knowledge of leadership, talent and management development to a range of work. This could include designing programmes, facilitating workshops and developing coaching and mentoring opportunities.

You’ll use feedback, data and new technology to understand what people need. You’ll also help keep our approach fresh and relevant.

Could you help us create development that people genuinely want to take part in? Development that feels practical, inclusive and useful?

Interviews are provisionally scheduled to take place on the 23rd & 24th November via MS Teams.

What you’ll do

You’ll work with people across the Society, bringing your ideas, expertise and practical approach to leadership and talent development.

You’ll:

  • Design, deliver and evaluate leadership and talent development programmes for managers and leaders.
  • Facilitate engaging workshops and learning sessions where people can learn, share ideas and build their confidence.
  • Work with leaders and colleagues to understand what people need and create development that makes a difference.
  • Develop resources, frameworks and career pathways that help people grow and prepare for future roles.
  • Lead our coaching and mentoring approach, helping colleagues access the right support to develop and progress.
  • Use data, feedback, digital learning and AI tools to improve how we develop our people.
  • Keep up to date with new ideas and best practice, bringing useful approaches into our work.

You’ll also contribute to wider People projects. You’ll help make sure leadership and talent development is accessible and inclusive for everyone.

About you

Do you enjoy helping people grow? Are you curious about what helps people learn, develop and feel ready for their next challenge?

You’ll have specialist knowledge of leadership, management and talent development. You’ll know how to turn that knowledge into learning that people can genuinely use.

You’ll be comfortable working with managers and leaders. You’ll build relationships with people at all levels and create spaces where people feel comfortable to learn and contribute.

You’ll also be able to use data and feedback to understand what’s working. Just as importantly, you’ll be open to trying something different when it isn’t.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience designing and delivering leadership, management or talent development programmes.
  • Can facilitate engaging learning sessions and create an environment where people feel comfortable to take part and learn.
  • Builds trusted relationships and can influence and communicate with people at all levels.
  • Is organised, curious and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage different priorities and get things done.
  • Uses insight, feedback and evidence to shape their approach and improve what they do.
  • Shares our commitment to inclusion and our values, particularly Compassion and working Better together.

If you enjoy trying new approaches, bringing people with you and finding ways to help others reach their potential, we’d love to hear from you.

Could you use your skills and experience to help shape how we develop our leaders and grow our talent?

Please note, if you've previously applied for this role, we will not be able to consider your application again.

About You

About Alzheimer's Society

Dementia is the UK's biggest killer. One in three people born in the UK today will develop dementia in their lifetime.

At Alzheimer's Society, we're the UK's leading dementia charity and the only one to tackle all aspects of dementia by giving help and hope to people living with dementia today and in the future. We give vital support to people facing the most frightening times of their lives, while also funding groundbreaking research and campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be.

Together with our supporters, we're working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.

Our values make sure that our focus is clear for the challenges and opportunities ahead and remind us of what we all stand for.

Our commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging

We need to ensure the voices around our table better reflect and understand the communities we exist to serve. We strongly encourage individuals to apply who have a disability, impairment or health condition or individuals who identify as Black, Asian or from another minority ethnic background, as these groups are currently under-represented at Alzheimer's Society.

We want everyone we work with, as a colleague, volunteer, supporter, or someone we support, to feel included and that they belong at Alzheimer's Society.

Our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy here along with our internal employee forum and Employee Lived Experience network groups help us promote inclusion and belonging, becoming an engaged and inclusive organisation for all our people.

Our hiring process

During your recruitment process we want to make sure that you bring your whole self and can be at your best. We are working hard to ensure our recruitment process is as inclusive as possible, so please do inform us of your experience and anything you think we could do better by completing our candidate survey when you apply. Please also contact Alzheimer's Society Talent Acquisition Team via [email protected] for application support or any adjustments you might need.

To ensure fairness and consistency to select the best candidate for this role, all our applications are anonymised up until an interview has been confirmed. We recognise the benefits of AI, but if you're considering using it to submit your application, we encourage you to reflect on the value it truly adds. AI tools often lack the personal touch and authenticity that set candidates apart. We want to hear your unique perspective, experiences, and skills, so we encourage you to showcase them in your own voice.

We try to avoid closing roles early where possible, however if we receive a high volume of applications, we may close earlier than the advertised closing date. Should this occur, we will aim to provide you with at least 48 hours' notice.

We are committed to safer recruitment and ensuring the welfare of those we work with, due to the nature of some of our roles, we might need to carry out a Criminal Record Check at the relevant level. You can read more information via our Website.

Giving back to you

Our employees work hard every day to make a true difference in people's lives. We are proud to support them with a range of benefits, recognition and many options for working agilely, all contributing to a strong work life balance. We also have various learning programmes to support you in your development and help you grow to realise your potential and shape a career with Alzheimer's Society.

You can also visit our Working for Us pages, which give you more information about what it's like to be an employee at the Society.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
