Position: Sommelier

Company: Royal Caribbean Cruise Line

Contract Details: Full-time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Sommelier to join our team on board our luxurious cruise ships. As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for creating an exceptional wine experience for our guests by recommending and serving wine, conducting wine tastings and events, and managing our onboard wine inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting guests in selecting the perfect wine to complement their meal

- Conduct wine tastings and events to educate guests about different wines and enhance their onboard experience

- Maintain and manage the ship's wine inventory, including ordering and receiving new stock, tracking usage, and monitoring quality

- Collaborate with the culinary team to create wine pairings for menus and special events

- Train and mentor other onboard staff on wine knowledge and service standards

- Ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation regulations, as well as company policies and procedures

- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, new wines, and winemaking regions to continuously improve the onboard wine selection

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sommelier in a fine dining restaurant or luxury hotel

- Extensive knowledge of wine varietals, regions, and production methods

- Excellent customer service and communication skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment

- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Certification from a recognized sommelier program is preferred

- Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus

- Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination and background check
