Amazon MGM Studios is seeking an experienced Digital Marketing Manager to lead ANZ and APAC pan-regional digital marketing strategy for our theatrical film slate. This role is responsible for defining and executing high-impact digital and social campaigns that drive awareness, engagement and box office performance, while ensuring consistency with global positioning and flexibility for local market execution.
You will work closely with the marketing, content/digital lead, distribution, media, creative, PR & insights teams, as well as global and local Amazon MGM offices, to deliver innovative, data-led digital campaigns that connect audiences with Amazon MGM films at every stage of the theatrical lifecycle. This role also plays a key part in shaping how audience data (1st, 2nd and 3rd party) are applied to theatrical marketing campaigns across the region. This position reports into the ANZ & APAC Head of Theatrical Marketing and is based in Sydney.
Key job responsibilities Strategy and Planning ● Collaborate with Theatrical Content Manager to lead assigned ANZ and APAC pan-regional digital marketing strategy for Amazon MGM theatrical releases, working closely with local and international Marketing, Digital, Creative, Media, and PR teams to deliver campaigns that meet defined KPIs and business objectives.
● Collaborate with the Theatrical Content Manager to deliver the ANZ & APAC social media strategy for key marketing moments, including trailer launches (organic), key global campaign beats, amplifying experiential activations, press tours and creative content days, premiere & screenings coverage, ensuring coordinated global rollouts and optimisation across markets.
● Support the local Amazon MGM marketing offices on implementing platform-first organic social media strategies that grow our audience following and brand presence.
● Partner with global, regional and local market teams to develop and execute creator strategies, identifying opportunities to amplify priority moments and build culturally relevant, high-impact creative.
● Leverage analytics, social listening tools and market insights to define, track and optimise digital and social KPIs at both campaign and Studio brand level, using learnings to refine campaign positioning and planning in collaboration with senior management.
● Drive innovation in audience engagement strategies across ANZ & APAC; testing new platforms, formats and approaches to maximise reach and impact.
Data Strategy and Collaboration ● Partner with the Theatrical Content Manager to support the International Media team with defining and implementing the pan-regional data strategy for theatrical digital marketing, overseeing best practice in the use of data management platforms and performance measurement tools.
● Partner with the wider Amazon organisation to apply Amazon audience data and insights to theatrical digital campaigns, improving targeting, efficiency and effectiveness.
● Support the Theatrical Content Manager & Trade Marketing Manager on data collaborations with exhibition partners, helping to integrate exhibitor data into campaign planning, activation and evaluation.
● Ensure data privacy, compliance and governance standards are adhered to across all digital activations.
Creative Execution ● Work with the International Creative team on digital campaign execution for assigned films and team support; ensuring that content delivers strong storytelling, is tailored to the platform/channel and takes and aligns with audience insights & the audience messaging strategy. ● Advocate for ANZ and regional needs outside of US strategy to ensure that local markets are serviced with effective creative.
● Partner closely with the Senior Int’l Digital Marketing Manager (US) and Theatrical Content Manager (ANZ) on quick turn talent activations and debuts, providing strategic recommendations and market prioritization.
● Manage and collaborate with external partners and agencies (including creative, media, creator and social agencies) to deliver brand-consistent campaigns that achieve maximum creative impact across all digital and social executions.
Cross-Functional Leadership and Team Development ● Develop strong cross-functional relationships with local, regional and global teams, coordinating closely with Creative, PR and Media teams to maximise earned, owned and paid digital opportunities and ensure cohesive campaign execution.
● Mentor junior team members and contribute to team capability development, sharing best practice and supporting career growth.
● Champion creative excellence, innovation and operational rigour across the organisation, facilitating ideation sessions and knowledge-sharing forums to drive experimentation, continuous improvement and the amplification of successful local activations across markets.
- 5+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience - Proven experience in digital marketing, social & creator marketing in Australia & New Zealand; APAC beneficial - Previous marketing experience within the entertainment industry (Theatrical preferred but SVOD, Network & Gaming also considered) - Proven track record in end-to-end campaign development. - Strong understanding of digital and social platforms, creator marketing and content ecosystems across ANZ & APAC markets. - Experience working with data, analytics and performance measurement tools to inform strategy and optimise campaigns. - Experience managing external agencies and cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. - Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority campaigns simultaneously. - Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels. - Fluency in English; additional languages desirable.
- Experience in digital marketing and content production timelines and process - Experience troubleshooting problems and offering solutions to streamline complex challenges - Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or equivalent
