The posting

Content Specialists support the development and execution of content strategies that align messaging, audience needs, and campaign objectives. Working under the guidance of senior content strategists, they help maintain narrative consistency across the customer journey by producing and coordinating defined content deliverables, applying established content types and placements by funnel stage, and contributing to Content Lifecycle Map development. The Content Specialist helps execute content strategies that guide customers through a cohesive AWS narrative across touchpoints of their journey. Using our standardized messaging hierarchy and the direction set by senior strategists, this role helps keep messaging, audience needs, and business objectives aligned while maintaining consistency in brand voice and customer experience. The Content Specialist does not own the content strategy or the messaging within the content; they apply the strategic direction provided to them to help content creators deliver consistent, personalized content experiences that educate, engage, and empower customers.

Key job responsibilities With a focus on audience engagement and consistent storytelling, the Content Specialist’s key responsibilities include assisting with audience and content audits, maintaining content calendars, helping coordinate content creation (though not producing it), and gathering content performance metrics to support continuous improvement. The role involves collaborating with Content Studio, Digital Strategy, Campaign teams, and subject matter experts to help deliver high-quality content across various platforms and formats, ensuring the strategic direction and messaging provided is executed consistently in each content piece—whether blogs, infographics, or videos, etc. The Content Specialist works with the Channels team, Digital Strategists, and Content Studio to apply recommended content formats based on persona, customer journey stage, and content placement.

Key Responsibilities - Support the execution of content strategies aligned with AWS goals and target audiences - Assist with audience and content audits to inform strategy - Help maintain content calendars and information architecture - Coordinate content creation across various formats (blogs, infographics, videos, etc.) under guidance - Apply SEO best practices and support multi-platform distribution - Compile performance metrics and surface observations for review - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, peer marketing teams, subject matter experts, etc.) to support alignment across execution touchpoints - Help ensure brand and messaging consistency across all content - Apply recommended content formats based on persona to support engagement, lead generation, and brand loyalty

A day in the life Your Day-to-Day - Help maintain the content calendar from ideation to publication - Coordinate with content creators and designers to produce various content formats - Help identify trends, content gaps, and audience preferences - Work with data and analytics teams to gather and track KPIs - Work with peer teams to support SEO optimization and user-friendly formats - Stay informed on industry trends and algorithm changes affecting content marketing - Help maintain relationships with internal and external subject matter experts

About the team The Integrated Demand Center (IDC) Content Strategy team shapes how AWS tells its story across the customer journey. We're the connective tissue between messaging, audience insight, and campaign execution — making sure the right content reaches the right customer, in the right format, at the right moment. Our work spans the full content lifecycle, from strategy and planning through creation and performance, in close partnership with Content Studio, Digital Strategy, Campaign teams, and subject matter experts across AWS Marketing.

We're a collaborative, curious group that cares as much about craft as about outcomes. We dive deep on our audiences, challenge each other's thinking, and keep a cohesive AWS narrative at the center of everything we build. For someone early in their content career, this is a place to learn from experienced strategists, develop your craft on high-visibility work, and see the direct impact of great content on how customers discover, evaluate, and adopt AWS.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
