The posting

Help us protect not only the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing environment but all of our customers as well! Since 2006, our great team at AWS has been enabling our customers to bring great ideas to life in ways that aren’t possible in traditional IT environments. With AWS you can flexibly harness compute, storage, security, and other services from across the globe as your business demands them.

AWS Security works at the forefront of security challenges across cloud services, Internet of Things (IoT), identity and access management, mobile devices, virtualization, and custom hardware, all operating at massive scale. Our highly collaborative team is committed to each team member's growth as our business grows.

As a part of the Product Security group within AWS Security, we help AWS launch new products/services and new features to existing products securely. You will be responsible for leading a team of security engineers conducting security reviews, threat modeling and hands on security evaluations. You will also own evolving the security assurance process, and creating metrics to demonstrate your team’s performance. You will help set the direction for a team of security professionals that is responsible for all AWS products and services. This role combines long term strategic planning to raise the bar on security across the enterprise with the excitement and challenge of quickly reacting to new threat scenarios.

This position will provide you with a challenging opportunity to define and drive fundamental security outcomes for everything underlying the global AWS business, from tangible hardware devices to operational procedures.

The successful candidate must be comfortable diving into complex engineering discussions, and leveraging deep security expertise to ensure proper risk assessment and threat analysis is performed. You will provide crystal-clear technical direction and risk mitigation guidance for diverse engineering and business leaders at all levels.

By applying your hard-earned years of practical security engineering expertise in projects related to enterprise networking, hardware-rooted security, operating system hardening, and cloud-scale administrative infrastructure, you will literally shape the future of cloud computing.

As an Engineering Manager III at Amazon, you own a strategically important system architecture, major technology product, and/or suite of products with significant business impact. As a manager, you are responsible for establishing the right engineering team structure and overall technology strategy to meet a long-term business need. You determine whether it is appropriate to make a case to resource a large engineering initiative (spanning multiple years) and when to prioritize the resolution of an endemic problem over a current request. You are able to recognize where there needs to be a team boundary to better encapsulate technologies and where teams could combine for a better outcome. You are accountable for the execution and overall experience of your engineering team(s), the systems they create, their quality, and how they meet business goals. To make sure everyone understands our Leadership Principles, you audit adherence and drive initiatives that show them in action.

Core Responsibilities: * Team management, growth, and organization * Professional development of team members * Project management * Metrics and projections * Driving security initiatives * Recruiting * Process Improvement * Define the strategy for raising the security bar of core AWS services * Directly represent our organization to business leaders and technical staff at all levels of the company * Demonstrate reliable judgment, integrity, business acumen, and mature communication skills

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
