The posting

Do you want to apply your fire protection expertise to data center infrastructure that operates at a global scale? Are you excited about expanding your knowledge of building systems while contributing insights from your previous experience?

In this role, you will influence all aspects of fire protection design, construction, operations, and maintenance for our data centers. This includes fire suppression, fire detection, fire alarm, and mass notification systems, as well as fire-resistant construction and life safety. You will work with internal and external teams to define, design, detail, and document the fire protection features our facilities require, using both prescriptive and performance-based design approaches. You will contribute your expertise to the continual improvement of our fire protection design standards, ensuring our buildings protect people and keep our customers' data safe and uninterrupted over the life of each facility.

Key job responsibilities - Design and oversee fire water service infrastructure, including water supply analysis, coordination with utilities and fire officials, and establishing site-level requirements for fire protection systems. - Review concept designs and construction documents from third-party vendors to verify compliance with established design standards, local codes, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, International Code Council (ICC) requirements, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) expectations. - Prepare prescriptive and performance-based designs for building fire suppression, alarm, and detection systems, and coordinate fire protection system space requirements, supporting utilities, and equipment locations. - Collaborate with construction, commissioning, operations, and risk management teams to resolve requests for information, value engineering queries, and technical questions throughout the project lifecycle. - Drive improvement of fire protection design standards and standard configuration templates across the organization, simplifying and strengthening systems with each iteration.

A day in the life You will start your day reviewing active project designs, checking that fire protection elements meet our standards and local code requirements. You may join a cross-functional call with architects, mechanical engineers, and construction managers to align on system layouts for a new build, then shift to evaluating a vendor's submittal package for a fire alarm system. In the afternoon, you might prepare a performance-based design analysis or meet with local fire officials to secure approval of fire protection features. Throughout, you will mentor teammates and share lessons learned to improve quality across the team.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
