The posting

Amazon's Account Integrity Team (AIT) within Buyer Risk Prevention (BRP) protects hundreds of millions of customers by identifying and stopping fraudulent activity before it causes harm. The Risk Mining function is where human ingenuity meets machine learning - our team detects emerging modus operandi (MOs) that automated systems alone can't catch, and feeds those signals back into scalable upstream defenses. Nowhere is that fight sharper than in Anti-Automation, where we go head-to-head with bots, scripted attacks, and automated abuse that evolves by the hour. If you want to lead a team whose daily work directly translates into customer trust at global scale, this is the role.

The Manager II (Risk Mining) will own and lead the Anti-Automation Risk Mining team in India - a team of ~10 analysts, investigators, and builders who hunt down automated abuse before it scales. This is a true people-leadership role: you will hire, develop, and inspire a high-performing team while owning the vertical's detection strategy, operational health, and delivery outcomes. You will set the bar for investigation quality, build the next generation of Risk Mining talent, and partner across Engineering, Machine Learning, Product, and partner risk teams to turn your team's findings into durable, automated defenses.

This is a hands-on leadership role with broad cross-team influence, reporting to Risk Mining leadership. You are accountable for your team's people, performance, and output - scaling detection of automated MOs, driving measurable gains in detection speed and quality, mitigating risk, and clearing the blockers that stand between your team and impact.

Key job responsibilities - Lead, coach, and grow a team of ~10 Risk Analysts and investigators - owning hiring, performance management, career development, and team culture. - Own the Anti-Automation and Risk Mining strategy roadmap - anticipating how bots and scripted attacks evolve, prioritizing the highest-risk automated MOs, and staying ahead of the adversary. - Set and uphold the quality bar for investigations, deep dives, and MO documentation, and own vertical-level metrics for detection volume, speed, and precision. - Partner with Machine Learning, Engineering, and Product teams to turn your team's findings into scalable, automated upstream defenses, and own the feedback loop back into models and rules. - Collaborate with the other Risk Mining verticals and partner teams (Payment Risk, Abuse Risk Mining) on joint investigations and shared signals. - Own the operational health of the vertical - ticket ageing, SLAs, rule governance, SEV-2 reduction, and audit-ready SOPs. - Serve as the senior point of accountability for high-severity incidents, and executive escalations - Drive automation and GenAI opportunities to amplify your team's throughput and quality, and measure the realized ROI from those investments.

A day in the life No two days look the same when the automated-abuse landscape shifts in real time - your week balances hands-on leadership with the strategy that keeps Anti-Automation ahead of emerging threats:

People & Leadership - 1:1s with your team - removing blockers, coaching on complex cases, and supporting their career growth. - Reviewing your team's active investigations and setting strategic direction on the highest-risk automated MOs. - Making hiring decisions and strengthening the capabilities of the team.

Tactical (Keeping the Engine Running) - Driving down ageing tickets, SEV-2s, and rule governance action items in your vertical. - Reporting detection metrics and path-to-green on key goals in WBR and WPR forums. - Responding to live escalations when a new automated attack surfaces.

Strategic (Building What's Next) - Shaping the long-term detection strategy for Risk Mining - anticipating how automated abuse will evolve and positioning your team to stay ahead. - Partnering with ML and Engineering to turn your team's findings into automated defenses that scale. - Championing GenAI and automation opportunities as a core part of your team's strategy to increase impact. - Driving the vertical's strategic roadmap through OP1 planning and quarterly goal-setting.

About the team The Risk Mining team within Account Integrity spans India and Costa Rica, and works for Amazon's worldwide marketplace to detect and disrupt bad-actor behavior.

Our mission is simple: find the signal in the noise before bad actors cause harm. We operate across four risk verticals - Anti-Automation, Account Takeover, SMS Pumping, and Bad Actor Account - and partner closely with Machine Learning, Engineering, and Product teams to turn our investigative findings into scalable upstream defenses. The Anti-Automation vertical sits at the front line of that fight, taking on bots and scripted abuse at the scale.

If you want to lead a team where your decisions directly translate into customer trust at global scale - and where the adversary never stops evolving - this is the team.

- 3+ years of people management and team development experience - 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience - 5+ years of experience in program management, strategy, risk management, trust & safety, or a related field.

- Master's degree or equivalent - Experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions and implement effective solutions - Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization - Experience driving AI/automation-enabled process improvements, with a strong interest in applying GenAI to operational workflows.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
