The posting

Do you want to lead a team whose work shapes what millions of viewers see on their screens? The M&E Advertiser Performance team at Amazon builds high-throughput, low-latency back-end services that power personalized ad relevance in the real-time bid process for Media & Entertainment advertisements. When this team succeeds, advertisers reach the right audience at the right moment and viewers discover content they actually care about across Prime Video, Fire TV, and Alexa. As a Software Development Manager on this team, you will lead 11 engineers who own these critical services end to end. You will set the technical direction, define the product roadmap, and partner closely with Product, Science, and Technical Program Management stakeholders to deliver results that span multiple Amazon businesses. The team has already delivered compelling value and has a strong roadmap for the next 2+ years as we continue to invest, scaling functionality across new advertising placements and products. You will step into an established team with strong engineering talent and well-defined ways of working, giving you a solid foundation to make an immediate impact.

Key job responsibilities - Lead a team of 11+ software development engineers who own high-throughput, low-latency back-end services, guiding them through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing operations. - Define and own a 1 to 2 year product roadmap for your team's services, aligning technical priorities with organizational goals and advertiser performance outcomes across Prime Video, Fire TV, and Alexa. - Partner with Product, Science, and Technical Program Management stakeholders to translate business and research requirements into system design decisions, evaluating tradeoffs in scalability, latency, maintainability, and security. - Coach and develop engineers through collaborative growth planning, regular feedback, and strategic project assignments that strengthen both individual careers and overall team capability. - Build and maintain operational metrics and mechanisms that give visibility into service health, system performance, and advertiser outcomes, and take action to continuously reduce risk and improve quality.

A day in the life You start your morning reviewing latency dashboards and operational health for the team's real-time bidding services. By mid-morning you are in an architecture review with your engineers, pressure-testing a proposal for a new personalization feature. After lunch you sit down with a direct report to talk through their career goals and map out their next project opportunity. Later, you join a working session with your Science partners to align on an upcoming model integration, then close the day by reviewing your roadmap priorities with your Technical Program Manager to keep delivery on track.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
