The posting

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable broadband connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From households to small businesses, schools, hospitals, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve communities and organizations operating in places without dependable internet access.

We are seeking an ALG Strategy Lead to own the development of business strategy for all of Amazon Leo Government. As an individual contributor, you will independently develop and drive go-to-market strategy, cross-organizational programs, operational mechanisms, and business analytics across the ALG portfolio—spanning domestic and international government market segments. You will work in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment where the problem and strategy may not yet be defined, using your expertise and judgment to set direction, align stakeholders, and deliver results. This role influences without authority across teams and functions, presents strategies and recommendations to senior leadership, and translates leadership priorities into actionable plans. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with strong program management discipline, thrives in ambiguity, and has a proven track record of building and delivering strategy and programs from the ground up across a portfolio.

Key job responsibilities Strategy Development & Planning • Own the development of business strategy, go-to-market plans, and growth initiatives for all of ALG, working backwards from customer problems in an environment where the strategy may not be defined. • Analyze business trends, market demand, and emerging needs across the ALG portfolio to identify opportunities for growth and operational improvement. • Translate leadership priorities into actionable plans with clear milestones, owners, and success metrics. • Design strategy frameworks and enabling mechanisms that integrate growth plans with operational execution. • Define goals and metrics where none exist, and design long-term solutions that deliver the best outcome for ALG. Cross-Organizational Program Delivery • Own and deliver strategic programs and initiatives end-to-end—from scoping the problem and defining the approach, through gaining stakeholder buy-in, execution, and measurement. • Build scalable, repeatable operational mechanisms (MBRs, QBRs, operational reviews, reporting cadences) that improve consistency across the organization. • Manage multiple concurrent workstreams, proactively identifying risks and clearing blockers—escalating with the right resources when appropriate—to ensure on-time delivery. • Present a range of simplified solution options, representing the benefits and trade-offs of each, and make trade-offs between short- and long-term needs. • Develop detailed plans, maintain comprehensive documentation, and mitigate long-term risks. Business Performance & Analytics • Build dashboards, analytics frameworks, and reporting solutions that provide visibility into ALG performance. • Source, analyze, and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data from across the organization; report on pipeline metrics, business forecasts, and initiative effectiveness. • Provide fact-based insights into variances and trends; quantify business impact of initiatives to inform prioritization decisions. • Ensure customer outcomes are auditable, decisions are data-driven, and work quality is measurable. Stakeholder Management & Communication • Influence across teams, stakeholders, and partners without authority; build credibility and trust through consistent delivery. • Present strategies, progress updates, and business cases to senior leadership (up to L10) to secure alignment and support. • Write strategic narratives (6-pagers, MBR/QBR, PR/FAQ) and own inputs into OP1/OP2. • Foster constructive dialogue, harmonize discordant views, and lead the resolution of contentious issues to build consensus across teams with competing priorities. • Mentor and develop others across the organization and participate in the recruitment and promotion process.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance of TS/SCI.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
