What you'll do

Plan and deliver maintenance Plan, sequence and deliver preventive maintenance across all your assigned data center sites. Carry out hands-on maintenance, including filter changes, tank inspections, legionella testing, pump servicing, UV lamp replacement and fuel system checks. Keep maintenance reports and planners accurate and up to date.

Troubleshoot and fix for good Act as the first responder for mechanical faults and carry out first-level troubleshooting to restore service quickly and safely. Lead root cause analysis on failures and make sure remediation is completed so issues don't come back. Prioritize tasks and manage work through ticketing systems so critical issues are handled first.

Own your assets and spares Enter and manage asset, work order and maintenance history data in the EAM system for your assigned equipment. Identify, buy and store the spares and parts needed for planned and reactive work, so downtime is never caused by a missing part.

Lead safely and raise the bar Write and apply risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for all your work Supervise contractors who do servicing and preventive maintenance and hold them to Amazon's safety and quality standards. Mentor on-site Engineering Operations Technicians so they can respond confidently to mechanical events Look for ways to cut energy and operating costs without lowering reliability, and own your ideas from start to finish.

*How you'll work* You'll normally work Monday to Friday during standard office hours. You'll also join an on-call rotation and work outside hours when operations need it. You'll travel regularly between data center sites in the cluster.

*Who you'll work with* You'll join a diverse team of operations engineers, supply chain specialists, mechanical field engineers and site construction. Together you'll deliver the highest availability at the lowest possible cost. Our culture is inclusive: we value curiosity, ownership and the drive to keep raising the bar.

Key job responsibilities What you'll do Equipment reliability: Operate and maintain all of the equipment above across your assigned data centers, so every system is ready when it's needed. Preventive maintenance: Plan, coordinate and carry out scheduled maintenance, including filter changes, belt and bearing checks, pump and fan inspections, UV lamp replacement, water quality checks and fuel system testing, so issues are caught before they reach customers. Troubleshooting and root cause: Diagnose electrical, mechanical and controls faults hands-on, find the true root cause and deliver lasting fixes, not just workarounds. Reactive response: Respond quickly and safely to equipment failures and alarms, and restore service with minimal impact. Water and fuel readiness: Keep water tanks and UV treatment systems hygienic and compliant, and keep fuel systems clean, full and ready for generator backup at any moment. Cost and innovation: Look for ways to cut energy and operating costs without lowering reliability. Bold ideas are welcome, and you'll own them from start to finish. Safety and compliance: Meet the highest safety, environmental and regulatory standards on every task, especially when working with fuel, pressurized water systems and at height on rooftop equipment.

A day in the life Most of your time goes to hands-on work, such as replacing AHU filters, inspecting a water tank, running a legionella test or servicing a pump, all under the risk assessments and method statements you've written. Some days you might travel to another site to supervise a contractor's maintenance visit, help site operations team through an unfamiliar AHU fault, or dig into the root cause of last week's failure. Before you finish, you update EAM and send your operational assessment to the Chief Engineers. No two days are the same, but each one adds to the 99.999% uptime that AWS customers rely on.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
