Amazon Music is hiring an experienced Principal, Content Acquisition I Major Labels to join our Record Label Licensing & Strategy Team. The executive will report to the Global Head of Record Label Licensing & Strategic Partnerships and lead global licensing negotiations and strategy, including leading negotiations with major record labels, driving/building complex models to forecast business metrics, evaluating the impacts of negotiated royalty structures and proactively performing analytic deep dives across a variety of key performance indicators. The executive will maintain and drive Amazon's relationships with key major record labels and will be responsible for developing content strategy, securing new content and additional rights, and performing competitive monitoring.

Key job responsibilities • Determine (major) record label licensing strategy in relation to new projects and initiatives • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key record labels at decision-making level • Negotiate highly complex license agreements to secure all necessary rights from record labels, and expand existing agreements as needed • Perform analysis to quantify the impact of royalty models, and other terms that are negotiated terms with record labels globally • Collaborating with the legal team to review contractual terms and conditions relating to licensing agreements • Partner with internal Finance/Content Analytics teams to evaluate our deal terms across service tiers and territories • Audit business metrics, perform deep dive analysis on problems to understand root causes and making decisions based on data • Monitor the competitive landscape to help inform Amazon Music’s strategic priorities and expansion opportunities

- 8+ years of account management, business development, content licensing or finance experience - 8+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience - Bachelor's degree or equivalent

- J.D., or MBA - Experience in content negotiation, acquisition or business development - Experience working with global and cross-functional teams across business development, marketing, operations, product development and legal - Experience working at a record label, artist management company, artist talent agency, or similar field within the music industry - Familiarity with music licensing models, variable streaming economics, and multi-tiered streaming service offerings

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
