The posting

As a Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE), you will work with product managers and developers to plan solid test strategies, write and execute tests that validate new improvements to our systems. Test automation is integral part of your work. Working within frameworks created to support our team, you will develop and implement automated test suites. You test code at the user level, both manually and with automated tools. Our QA Engineers are not pure black box testers; they test at the appropriate level and are able to understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests to test at UI and/or API level. You'll look for key metrics that show the areas of strategic test value, weed out inefficiencies in our team's development and testing processes, and work with SDEs, Product Managers, and QA peers to deliver quality software products.

The ideal candidate gets excited about making certain the user experience is the best possible. The strength of an engineer is the ability to create documentation, creatively improve the software development and QA process, and the finely honed ability to break software in unexpected ways.

Key job responsibilities - Collaborate with product managers, developers and QA peers to plan test strategies and deliver quality software for Veeqo's ecommerce inventory and fulfilment platform.

- Break down complex, ambiguous features and sales channel and carrier integrations into clear test scenarios at the appropriate level, from UI to API.

- Write and execute manual and automated tests that validate new improvements, and break software in unexpected ways to find defects before customers do.

- Develop automated UI and API test suites within our team frameworks, keeping them reliable and maintainable.

- Debug problems using log files and your understanding of software internals, so defect reports give developers what they need to fix issues quickly.

- Use GenAI tools to improve testing productivity, and critically validate AI-generated output, judging when to trust it.

- Review designs, requirements and code changes, giving constructive feedback on testability, edge cases and user experience.

- Create clear, accurate documentation, including test plans, test cases and bug reports.

- Practise CI/CD by running automated tests in the delivery pipeline, and track key metrics to find and remove inefficiencies in our development and testing processes.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
