The posting

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for the proactive, day-to-day monitoring and execution of Amazon's Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) program at the site. Partnering closely with the Safety Manager, this individual monitors safety compliance, identifies and helps mitigate potential hazards within the warehouse environment, and serves as a visible, on-the-floor safety resource across all operational shifts. The qualified candidate engages professionally with the entire site workforce and leadership team to drive safety awareness, education, and a strong safety culture, and communicates clearly — both written and verbally — to correct unsafe conditions and reinforce safe behaviors.

About the role This site supports a dynamic, fast-moving warehouse operation with a growing headcount and newly added shifts. The Safety Coordinator is the front-line owner of safety execution for their assigned shift(s) — the person associates and area managers go to for real-time hazard questions, injury response, and process-path safety support. This is a highly visible, floor-based role: expect to spend the majority of your time in operations process paths observing work, coaching associates, and partnering with Operations leadership to build safety into the way work gets done.

Key job responsibilities - Assist in implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the workplace to ensure compliance with Company Safety policies in order to provide a safe and secure workplace for employees, visitors, vendors, and guests. - Maintain daily documentation requirements to report activities and other related safety prevention matters. - Perform work task Risk Assessments and develop safety standard work in conjunction with associates. - Complete ergonomic assessments on job tasks, incorporating findings into applicable Standard Work. - Provide immediate aid to associates, visitors, vendors, or guests that need assistance, or medical attention as appropriate. - Provide front-line first-aid response and triage; complete injury/illness case documentation, workers' compensation intake, return-to-work (RTW) and accommodation tracking, and injury recordkeeping reconciliation. - Manage regulated-waste compliance: label, date, and inspect waste accumulation areas; process and prepare waste shipments in accordance with RCRA and DOT requirements, including manifests; coordinate specialized waste streams (batteries, oils, coolants) with the maintenance team; and perform spill response, spill-kit inspections, and stormwater best management practice (BMP) inspections. - Investigate, compile, and develop investigative reports on any incident/accident that may occur, and ensure action items are adequately complete. Conduct Root Cause Analyses in conjunction with Operations leadership. - Coordinate with any outside emergency agency — Fire, Police, Sheriff, OSHA, etc. - Be a leader in customer service to the Operations team. Understand and frequently work in operations process paths. - Respond to situations, as they arise, based on direction from the Safety Manager. - Perform site physical condition safety observations, associate safety behavior observations, and audits and inspections in relation to fire and safety related equipment. - Verify Permit to Work (PTW) compliance on shift and monitor contractor safety (personal protective equipment and work-area compliance). - Conduct training and participate in new manager orientations, associate orientations, and pre-shift meetings. - Assist in CPR/First aid, power equipment training, and any other programs assigned by the Safety Manager. - Facilitate and attend 5S and Kaizen events. - Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical inventory, and manage PPE inventory and fit testing.

- High school or equivalent - Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays - Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach - Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required

- 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience - Experience with environmental regulations - Knowledge of technical understanding of the waste management process

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
