The Corporate Services Security (CPSS) Finance and Communication Security Team is responsible for securing the applications, infrastructure and data developed across Finance & Global Business Services (FGBS) and Communications & Corporate Responsibility (CCR). We partner with builder teams to minimize security risks across their applications while being a business enabler. Our team develops security tooling and automation to provide high quality security findings earlier in development lifecycle. We are responsible for defining and executing on the security and privacy requirements across the entire organization.

We are looking for a Security SDE to join Amazon's Corporate Services Security team. As a security technical subject matter expert, you will engage with business, product, and technology leaders to drive security solutions at scale by partnering with senior engineers on the team. You will partner closely with our development and security teams to produce innovative and secure solutions.

Our customers demand high standards, so a passion and discipline around security and delivery is critical. A high level of ownership and accountability is essential.

Key job responsibilities Build AI-powered security tools and automation end to end: Contribute to technical vision, design, and delivery at large-scale, protecting Amazon Corporate Customers. Contribute to architectural direction and high judgment decisions that shape the roadmap. Leverage Agentic AI development best practices to accelerate every phase.

Cross-team technical leadership: Drive execution across multiple teams and stakeholders. Decompose complex, ambiguous problems into actionable plans, unblock dependencies, and deliver cross-team initiatives on time and at quality.

Champion AI-assisted secure SDLC practices: Contribute to the team's AI first development workflows including agentic coding and experimental techniques. Under the guidance of senior engineers, drive adoption, measure impact on security, velocity and quality, and set the standard for the whole team.

Security and technical direction: Partner with senior security engineers, researchers, principal engineers, and senior leadership to translate customer security needs into technical requirements. Influence roadmap priorities with data and technical insight.

Contributing to building the foundation for the team: Under the guidance of the senior engineers, establish development best practices, and technical review processes that set the bar for all future work.

Mentor and grow engineers: Develop junior engineers through pairing, design reviews, and hands on coaching. Foster a culture of ownership and continuous learning.

Contribute to operational excellence: Own security of your services. Lead on call rotations, drive root cause analysis, and implement systemic improvements.

Innovate with urgency: Prototype security solutions rapidly, validate with customers, and iterate. Bring a builder's mindset to an environment where the best idea wins.

A day in the life As a Software Security Engineer, you will collaborate with application development teams to ensure we keep our customers safe while developing novel services using GenAI. In a given day, you might be inspecting an application’s code, building a new framework to help our software developers build faster and more securely, or fine-tuning the software design for a new service. The ideal candidate combines technical acumen with an ability to lead by influence and communicate clearly. Technically, this person will be a software specialist with deep expertise within software development combined with security know. They will clearly articulate risks to technical and non-technical audiences alike. Successful candidates will effectively harmonize disparate opinions while effectively prioritizing risks to guide their partners towards secure solutions.

- 4+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience - 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of any combination of the following: threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

- 4+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
