The posting
We are looking for an experienced compliance professional to join the Account Compliance Risk & Quality (ACRQ) team within Amazon's 1st Line of Defence, providing dedicated, independent risk oversight of the INFORM Consumers Act program. The INFORM Act requires online marketplaces to collect, verify, and disclose information about high-volume third-party sellers to protect consumers from fraud and illicit goods.
Sitting within Account Compliance Risk, the role operates independently from the teams responsible for day-to-day execution of INFORM requirements and controls. You will provide senior-level regulatory risk judgement and an independent view of compliance and risk exposure to senior leadership and governance forums. You are the person who sees the full picture across Legal, Technology, Program, and Operations, connects the dots across workstreams, and raises red flags when the program's risk posture is trending in the wrong direction. The team is actively building AI-powered risk assessment tools and automated monitoring frameworks, and you will be expected to engage with and help shape how these capabilities are applied to oversight work.
Key job responsibilities - Own and maintain the INFORM Obligation Register and Compliance Requirements Document (CRD), ensuring all regulatory requirements are mapped, current, traceable to controls, and translated into actionable compliance requirements for programme teams. - Provide independent, evidence-based assessment of the end-to-end INFORM risk and control environment, covering seller identification, verification, certification, disclosure, enforcement, and reporting. Review and challenge control design and operating effectiveness using monitoring results, operational metrics, incidents, and complaints. - Identify emerging risks, systemic weaknesses, and concentrations of regulatory exposure. Lead regulatory horizon scanning, translate changes into impacts for the control environment, and maintain risk appetite thresholds and escalation mechanisms in partnership with Legal. - Produce clear, decision-oriented risk reporting for senior leadership and governance forums covering current exposure, control effectiveness, issue health, and direction of travel. Support regulatory enquiries and examinations where required. - Drive continuous improvement of the oversight framework through data and automation, manage dependencies with adjacent domains such as KYC, seller experience, and data privacy, and hold programme teams accountable for timely remediation through structured escalation.
A day in the life Your morning starts with a question you return to every day: does the compliance picture people believe match the evidence underneath it? Before the US comes online, you use the quiet hours to look past the dashboards, not to read the green, but to test whether it is real or whether a control is quietly drifting behind a reassuring number.
Mid-morning you are building the oversight framework itself, defining how obligations map to controls, how risk is assessed and calibrated, and how a signal travels from a monitoring exception to a decision in front of leadership. After lunch the work turns live. You join Program, Technology, and Legal partners across time zones, often as the only person on the call holding the regulatory-risk lens, and you challenge whether a change lands cleanly against an INFORM obligation before it ships.
About the team The ACRQ team provides independent risk oversight of some of Amazon's most significant regulatory compliance programs. We are a small, senior team operating across multiple entities, jurisdictions, and regulatory regimes, working closely with Legal, second line of defence, programme teams, and senior leadership. Over the past year we have invested heavily in AI-powered risk assessment and automated monitoring, and that investment is accelerating.
This role is a genuine springboard. The combination of regulatory expertise, independent oversight, and senior stakeholder engagement prepares you for compliance leadership or broader risk positions. The INFORM space is still evolving, so you will have the opportunity to shape the framework rather than inherit a settled one. If you want to do work that matters at a global scale and grow while doing it, we would love to hear from you.
