The posting

Are you passionate about making complex technology accessible and empowering developers to build with confidence? We are looking for a Senior Technical Writer who thrives on turning intricate technical concepts into clear, usable documentation that customers rely on every day. In this role, you will own the content strategy and documentation for a complex technology product, collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver documentation that shapes how customers experience our products. You will bring deep technical curiosity, a talent for information design, and a proactive approach to improving both content quality and team processes. If you are energized by solving hard problems through great writing and want your work to have a direct impact on customer success at Amazon scale, we want to hear from you.

Key job responsibilities - Develop, negotiate, and drive content strategy in alignment with engineering product strategy, creating plans that span the entire documentation lifecycle including risk assessment and communications. - Author and deliver high-quality technical documentation and code samples for complex technology products, ensuring accuracy, usability, and adherence to established style guides and coding standards. - Collaborate across teams with engineers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders to identify opportunities and problems with API design, customer experience, and user experience, and advocate for product improvements. - Evaluate and integrate generative AI tools into documentation workflows to improve content quality, accelerate production, and augment team productivity while applying responsible AI practices. - Drive measurement and analysis of content effectiveness using customer feedback and content metrics, and implement process improvements that increase operational efficiency and documentation quality.

A day in the life You might start the morning reviewing a design document for an upcoming feature, providing technical feedback that shapes the customer experience before a single line of code is written. By midday, you could be collaborating with engineers to clarify system behaviors and drafting documentation that helps customers navigate a complex workflow. In the afternoon, you may analyze content performance data to prioritize updates, mentor a fellow writer on information architecture, or evaluate a new AI tool that could streamline your team's publishing process.

About the team Our team is dedicated to creating technical content that empowers customers to succeed with Amazon's technology products. We value collaboration, continuous improvement, and a genuine commitment to the customer experience. As we look ahead, we are investing in scalable content solutions and AI-augmented workflows that will redefine how technical documentation is created and consumed. You will join a group of thoughtful, curious writers who take pride in their craft and actively contribute to each other's growth.

- 5+ years of technical writing in a relevant field experience - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, English, Technical Writing, or a related field - Experience in technical writing in a relevant field - Experience using and following a style guide - Experience using content publishing tools to write, format, manage, and publish technical content on the web - Experience with XML-based publishing systems

- Experience designing, planning, and delivering content projects - Experience with cloud services - Experience working with Agile project management methodologies - Experience working with Git or an equivalent distributed version control system - Experience working with XML, reStructuredText, or Markdown-based documentation systems

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
